THEREFORE WE ARE SELLING HER AS "TMU - TRUE MILEAGE UNKNOWN * For Sale is a completely restored, exceptionally clean, rust free, Fuel injected 1978 Datsun 280Z 5 Speed sports car with ICE COLD A/C and a COMPLETELY REMACHINED CYLINDER HEAD, NEW HEAD GASKET, with NEW VALVE SEALS and VALVE JOB / VALVE SERVICE with warranty. She is being offered with NO RESERVE, and MUST BE SOLD, and she will be sold to the highest bidder. This car is in exceptional show quality condition inside and out, needs absolutely nothing, and is ready to be driven and enjoyed anywhere by her new owner. EXTENSIVE SERVICE RECEIPTS AND MAINTENANCE RECORDS are included. The previous owner of this 280Z was a former Datsun / Nissan parts manager. Before he passed away, he spent several thousand dollars completely disassembling the body, removing any signs of rust, then completely prepping and rust proofing the entire body and chassis. The car was then repainted in its original # 305 Light Blue Metallic paint. AN EXTENSIVE PHOTO DOCUMENTARY OF ALL STAGES OF BODY RESTORATION is included. Also the same, previous 2nd owner accumulated an entire garage wall of NOS spare parts, including over 200 boxes of many rare and hard to find spare pieces. Dozens of upgrades have now been done, replacing any older looking pieces with new NOS replacement parts. Some of the upgrades include air cleaner + ducts, all filters, all belts, all hoses, new intake manifold, all new fuel injectors, new fuel pump + fuel lines, new emblems, all new weather stripping, a complete new interior, and much more. The remainder of all NOS parts will also be included with the sale, as well as several shop manuals, owners manual, and a 280Z car cover. The list of spare parts still in boxes is very long and consists of 2nd set of door panels, complete 2nd carpet kit, 2nd set of tail lights, 2nd set of brakes, tune-up kits, dozens of extra mechanical parts, modules, suspension and bushing parts, and more. Here is what you get: EXTERIOR: Paint and Body are in Exceptional Show Quality Condition. All chrome and glass are in Exceptional, Like New condition. Exterior emblems and logos were replaced with NOS parts and are Like New. Original Z Deluxe Wheel Covers are also Like New and sit on Very Good tires. All signals and bezels, window trim and moldings, front and rear bumpers look like new. Door handles look like new. The original power antenna is still installed, but a hidden high boost antenna is connected behind the dash. Pictures do not do this car justice in overall body and paint condition. INTERIOR: Exceptional Show Quality Condition. New Original NOS seat covers have been installed; carpet is like new, as is headliner and dome light. Dash is like new with NO cracks or splits whatsoever. Door armrests and handles are new, complete center console is in Excellent Condition, all switches and controls are like new everything works. Period correct AM/FM Stereo Cassette stereo works; tape cassettes sound great, period correct surface mount speakers look just right and sound very good. A/C blows ice cold; all gauges are in Excellent working condition. MECHANICAL: Excellent Condition. New and completely refinished cylinder head includes new head gasket, new valve seals, and complete valve job service with warranty, all service records included. The later fuel injected engines eliminated many of the reliability problems caused by the carburetors and this 280Z is exceptionally dependable. The original Datsun 280Z was one of the best built, best handling, and best designed sports cars of the 1970's. All signals and bezels, window trim and moldings, front and rear bumpers look like new. Door handles look like new. The original power antenna is still installed, but a hidden high boost antenna is connected behind the dash. Pictures do not do this car justice in overall body and paint condition.

Dash is like new with NO cracks or splits whatsoever. Door armrests and handles are new, complete center console is in Excellent Condition, all switches and controls are like new everything works. MECHANICAL: Excellent Condition. New and completely refinished cylinder head includes new head gasket, new valve seals, and complete valve job service with warranty, all service records included. Many new and upgraded parts include a Complete New Exhaust System, an upgraded Intake Manifold, All New Injectors, All New Hoses, All New Belts, All New Filters, New Fuel Pump and Fuel Lines, Fuel Injection Service, Clean and flush out of fuel tank, Many New Gaskets including Timing Cover gasket and Head gasket, and dozens of new NOS parts and upgrades that came with the car and have now been installed.
1978 was the last year of the original Z design, and is considered by many to be the best of the first generation Z cars. The later fuel injected engines eliminated many of the reliability problems caused by the carburetors and this 280Z is exceptionally dependable. The original Datsun 280Z was one of the best built, best handling, and best designed sports cars of the 1970's. This is one of the most fun and economical classic sports cars to drive and one of the easiest to service.
