We took this on trade from a friend of my brothers. In April of 2010 the transfercase went out. The owner than got a used one from a junkyard and had it rebuilt by a local transmission shop. He got all the things needed to also do a complete tune up on the engine as well. He began to install the newly re-built transfercase and than found it was the wrong transfercase. The original transfercase was given as a core for the transfercase he got. Frustrated the vehicle sat for alsmost 9 months when he than got a second transfercase that also was the incorrect transfercase. So we have a very nice Suburban with 2 transfercases (1) rebuilt and the second used. If you think you can research this vehicle and find the correct transfercase you will have a great SUV. The transmission,engine,rearend and front differentials are all in great working order. The motor was not started for over a year but did fire right up and sounded great with no noise and smoking. All guages work as they should and NO idiot lights are on in the instraument cluster. Tires Goodyear Tracker2 LT245/75r16 were all brand new about 5,000 miles before the transfercase went out. Exhaust is quiet and solid as well. He said front end and steering is also in very shape.
