It is a sharp car and generally speaking it is in average condition for the year. It has all the normal stuff a Z3 has: · Power Windows · Power Seats · Heated Seats · AC · Traction Control · Air Bags · Alloy Wheels · Aftermarket AM/FM/CD/Aux Sound · Etc. However, it has a few problems and I have not driven it since October 2007. It has been in my garage since then and every year I’ve told myself I’m going make the repairs but never did. Reality has set in and I want my garage space back so the car has to go. I believe the reserve price is fair, as I wasn’t willing to risk the timing nuances of a No Reserve auction. The pictures give a good indication of the car’s condition, so rather than try point out all the features, I’m just going to say what is wrong with it. The primary issue with the car is it needs an engine replacement. The #1 cylinder has almost no compression because of a damaged piston. Not sure what caused it but that’s what was found at the BMW garage when I took it in because the plug kept fouling. There is some scoring on the cylinder wall. I had them remove the head and check it for damage and there was none. I also had them send it out to check if it was still true and it passed the flatness tests. Technically, the engine could be repaired / rebuilt but everyone I have talked with said swapping in a used engine would be easier and cheaper. The engine is still in the car and it runs, albeit with a miss. The convertible top is well worn and should probably be replaced. At the very least all the seals around the door windows need replaced as there is some leaking. The car is dry because it has been in my garage, but left outside as it is would not be wise. There is a small (probably repairable) stone chip in the windshield just right of center. The airbag light warning light is on. I’m not sure what the issue is since it wasn’t on when I initially stored the car. The buyer will need to have that checked out at a dealer to determine the cause. There is small dent on the hood where I accidentally bumped it in the garage with the end of a 2x4 or something (Doh!). I took a picture of it which over-emphasizes it but I wanted to point it out. The vehicle is being sold As-Is and Where-Is. You are responsible for pickup in Derry, NH and I will not arrange for shipment. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required through PayPal within 48 hours of auction end. Final payment is required within 7 days of auction end. Cash or Cashier’s Check are the only forms of final payment I will accept. Failure to make required payments on time will result in you being reported to ebay and the vehicle being re-listed. You are welcome to come and inspect the vehicle PRIOR to the auction’s end. If you are unable to pick the vehicle up at the time of final payment, I am willing to store it in my garage for an additional week. That does not change the 7 day final payment requirement.
