Vehicle Detail
Mock up or Recreation. Rebuilt engine and transmission. New floor panel. Reasonably straight driver. Originally, a six cylinder car, now 292 Y block with 4bbl. Originally car was light blue repainted to replicate this particular drivers car in 1956 (Dresden Blue and Snowflake white). Vintage decals. Lettering and numbers are paint not vinyl. Dashboard and interior trim is medium blue color and original, much of the interior is removed. I have the back seat, and it is a upholstered like the front seat. The front seat was was removed for floor panel replacement and has not been fully bolted back down as I have debated putting in carpet. Three speed column shift, strap was on the dash for holding the car in gear as drivers spead around curves. Has new brakes, shocks and exhaust with straight mufflers and great sound. Motor does not smoke. Roll-bar bolts to floor and not chassis. Radio delete. Last I checked, everything worked such as lights, wipers and horn. Tack does not work or is not connected. Has real nice door threasholds that just screw down with stainless screws. You see those just sitting in the back now. Stretch rope for hood and trunk hold downs but the car has the latches in place and working. Trim is screwed down with stainless steel screws and simulated plate to bolt to work doors closed. This is what they had to do at the time. Has new fuel tank and exhaust system. Side exhaust cutouts are simulated and not functional. This car did have rust and there were patch panels in the body but I did not do the work. It was donme a few yeras back and they remain looking good. There have been some touchups to the paint. Some tiny bubbles appearing in the paint behind the rear bumper I include a photo. The brown spots ware just dirt not rust spots. Drivers door needs adjustment. Hinges are good, door has slight drop when opened. I have chrome valve cover, gaskets and original oil bath air cleaner. Radial tires are very good condition. E-mail questions I cannot think of everything to write about right now. This is registered in New Jersey. In reponse to possible questions, I did not strip and do body work on this car and do not know what panals were replaced etc. I bought it painted. I removed the old interior and had a patch panal put on the driver side front. It does not need others. I also had the trans rebulit and had a leaking rear seal fixed among other things I have no doubt forgotten. Please assume it had rust and bondo exists in this car and that you can find things wrong with it if you are a show car guy. The photo of the inner lower driver door corner is not coming thru with rust on the outside. The small bubbles mentioned are below the trunk lid and at the base of the curve of the body before going under the bumper. There are maybe five 1/4 inch bubbles. Not a big deal to me. This is a stock car driver and I never drove it more than 10 miles at best. If you are the type that wants a fine show car please don't bid. The feedback I have came hard and I wish to keep it. Send somebody to see it if you are interested. I know people wants to know the price so I have a low buy it now.
