1998 was the FIRST MODEL YEAR - not many of these around with 5 speed manual transmission, let alone in this condition. 213,XXX original miles!! Meticulously maintained, have dealership receipts for all major work: timing belt at 160,000, new clutch at 185,000, oil changes every 3,000 miles; shifter feels stiff but is perfect (just rebuilt, has to wear in). Has NEVER been in an accident - check the CarFax report as I did when I bought it eight years ago. NO BODY DAMAGE EVER, typical minor scratches and chips - see photos. (I will replace the blackout taillights with the OEM pair and remove the carbon fiber headlight covers and door handle plates.) The good: Hard to find original rear arc spoiler Original owner's manual with dated maintainance records Shiny paint Runs and drives EXCELLENT DEPENDABLE and RELIABLE vehicle ICE cold a/c Pioneer single CD am/fm with remote control and removable face plate 1 year old New Beetle LeBra included as pictured Interior very good, no rips/tears/worn spots Working foglights - one has a leak (water gets in) but still works NO RUST ANYWHERE The bad: Passenger side door lock works manually only, driver's door latch is slightly glitchy but always works Clearcoat on nose is peeling Header is sagging slightly in one spot (about 10" area) Shift boot has a 2" tear Middle lines only of rear defogger don't work, clears the back window of fog/snow/ice perfectly 2" patch of slightly cracked paint on rear bumper - no damage to body Aftermarket front valence is cheap and should be replaced (cost $18 on ebay) NEEDS HEATER CORE - check light is on because I had it bypassed All of this has been taken into account when setting my asking price - I LOVE THIS CAR and want it to go to another Bug lover. 631-804-9470 Can be seen from 5:30 pm on
