Vehicle Detail

For Sale is my beloved 2004 Mazda custom charcoal RX-8 Touring with a 6 speed manual transmission. The chassis has 77***k miles on it while the motor ONLY has about 5k miles on it after it was rebuilt last year. I purchased the car in southern California several years ago and commuted to work and had driven back and forth from Texas a few times, so I assure you the miles that are on the chassis are HIGHWAY miles. The title for this car is clear, but the car will be sold as is with no warranty. This car is so much fun to drive, the handling is amazing, gorgeous interior, and even comfortable on those long road trips! I am selling the car so that I may attend school out of state, and I hope that it goes to a very good, loving home. To recap: 2004 Mazda RX-8 Touring 6 speed transmission Paint color: Lexus Smokey Granite Mica (paint color of front bumper is unknown) Mileage on motor: ~5,000 Mileage on Chassis: 77,*** Motor: 1.3L Rotary (REBUILT) INTERIOR: The interior is stock and the quality and condition is top notch! The car has two toned black/grey race-look seats with the rotary symbol cut-out in the headrest, the inserts on the seats are durable grey micro-fiber, best cloth interior on a car I have ever had. The rest of the interior is black with aluminum accents and comes with floor mats and nice stainless steel pedal covers. The leather wrapped steering wheel is very comfortable for any style of driving, and the placement of the controls seems to fit any driver (there are also steering wheel controls for the radio/cruise control which is very convenient). The stereo in the car is all BOSE with a 6 disc cd changer, it sounds great! There is plenty of storage space on the inside of the car, the center console runs all the way from the front of the car to the back and has several cup holders and compartments. The back seats are easily accessible to passengers or loading using the rear half-doors. You will LOVE the sun roof, it goes all the way back or just tilts to give a little ventilation. Recently serviced the A/C is cold and will keep you cool even in the Texas heat. Sun visors have begun to split at the swivel connection, I am not sure if this is common in RX-8's, but it seems like a silly problem, they hang a little weird. EXTERIOR: The car was custom painted with the Lexus charcoal colored paint before I had purchased it and with the eyelids on the headlights give it a sleek look. The paint job was very well done, very thorough: the door jams and engine bay were also painted. I had bumped a curb with the original polyurethane bumper so it has been replaced with an aftermarket fiberglass bumper that will need to be painted at some point, and the bumper lights will need to be replaced as they were clear markers which were outlawed in California (inexpensive replacements are available right here on Ebay). The wheels are stock 5 spoke wheels with a little curbrash and moderately worn Falken tires. There are aftermarket fiberglass side skirts that were molded onto the car as well as a rear lip to give the car a lower, more stylish appearance, but as you can see in the pictures it has separated at the front of the side skirt. A new windshield might be necessary for inspection depending on the state as there is quite a long crack in the glass started by a small rock. The rear trunk lid has a small lip on the top that went along with the other body modifications by the previous owner who had gotten in a very low impact bump on the back causing a few cracks in the paint. The trunk functions properly, opens and closes easily, but might need an adjustment if you ever take it to the body shop to get other minor details fixed. Any other nicks from daily driving can be seen in the pictures, normal wear for a car with the amount of miles on the body). DRIVETRAIN: As mentioned before, most working parts on the car have 77k miles on them aside from the motor. The motor was rebuilt last year and has about 5k miles on it. An aftermarket ACT Street/Strip clutch and lightweight flywheel will come on the car with pretty low mileage on them. The clutch needs heavier pressure from the driver than a normal stock clutch, but if fits with the car very nicely. The TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) light is still on, I used to have aftermarket wheels on the car so I am thinking they haven't recognized the sensors yet or just need to be mated. There are two check engine codes that need to be cleared for the light to go off which are codes P0037 and P0443, I don't believe these are serious, but I can't get them to stay off. Understandably the car needs a little TLC, but I have listed the car low to sell and I hope she finds a good home. Even with some of the exterior issues, I'm sure you will recognize that any car with 5k miles on the motor still has a long way to go and this is a great car! I took very good care of her as a driver and always changed the oil every 3k miles. I will be sad to see her go, but my loss is your gain. IF YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS ABOUT OWNING THIS CAR, DO NOT BID!!! IF YOU HAVE THE HIGHEST BID, YOU WILL OWN THIS CAR!! The reserve price is very low, where the price goes from there is up to you, take her home!!! :) Please feel free to message me with any questions. Good luck and happy bidding! I reserve the right to end this auction early if the car is sold locally.
