Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is a beautiful 1968 Dodge Charger R/T with less that 3200 miles on it since a FULL restoration. I have dubbed it "The Green Meanie." It is a true R/T car that has been meticulously and correctly restored with no expense spared. It is green inside and out with full gauges on the dash and low back bucket seats. It was originally a 440 car with a 727 Torqueflite transmission and an 8 3/4" Suregrip rear end. During restoration, a 528 cubic inch Keith Black Hemi crate motor was installed that made 680 horsepower on a dyno running on race gas.(Will also run on 93 octane) It is mated to the original transmission which also received a 3000 rpm stall speed torque converter and a manual valve body. The original matching numbers 440 was rebuilt and has less than 3000 miles on it and is included in this sale along with the original magnum wheels. This Charger was restored by Chris Brand at Classic Car Restoration in Tarpon Springs, FL and was completed in 2007. It was fully stripped down and put on a rotisserie stand and made new again. All pieces were either refurbished or new old stock (N.O.S.) parts were ordered. There are no "cheap" or "knock off" pieces used on this car. All Mopar just the way it should be. The gauges were sent to Year One for full restoration and the interior and exterior colors and packages were restored to their correct factory schemes. The only piece that was not redone is the center console. It is in fair shape, but it does have a crack on the rear just behind the storage compartment. This is a factory air conditioned car and it has a new sanden compressor and lines. These were installed with the Hemi but the system was never vacuumed down and charged with refrigerant. With a charge the a/c will be ready to keep you cool. This Charger is also equipped with electronically operated dumps on the exhaust system. With the flick of a switch, you can go from a full exhaust system to open header exhaust. The exhaust system is ceramic coated from front to back and the undercarriage of the car is just as impressive as the rest of the car. It has manual disc brakes on the front and drums in the rear and it is also equipped with line lock. This is an excellent example of a Mopar done right. It was built by a Mopar lover with no expense spared. There is over $200K invested in this beauty and we have piles of pictures and receipts to show for it, but the car speaks for itself. It runs and drives as good as it looks. It turns heads anywhere it goes and leaves anyone questioning its power in the dust. This is a high dollar car that is priced to sell and worth every penny. It has been relisted because of payment complications. Buyer will be responsible for shipping and PAYPAL IS REQUIRED for payment. !!AUCTION IS FOR U.S. ONLY!! If you do not live in the United States and have a U.S. phone number DO NOT BID. If you would like to see more pictures or have ANY questions don't hesitate to ask. **NO RESERVE**
