Vehicle Detail
Up For Sale is "Woodstock", a happy 1984 Westfalia. Pro's:This Westy is a great driving and running camper. It has mostly original paint and upholstery and top and shows well with only a few minor bumps and bruises. It is in excellent shape for it's age. I just changed the engine oil and filter and the transmission/transaxle oil. It stops well, steers easy and has a new Pioneer stereo w an MP3 jack, and speakers. Tires are decent but they should be replaced soon. It has a new Walmart battery that can be exchanged almost anywhere in the US. The engine was rebuilt by the previous owner, who was a retired VW mechanic. I have never seen a hint of smoke and there are no obvious oil leaks or funny noises! Cons: The odometer is broken but is probably over 200k from what the previous owner mechanic stated. It drivers very good and feels more like a 80k car with tight steering etc. Highway miles are easy on cars. There is a dent in driver's door that might push out, also minor rear corner dents look like from slight bump with trailer. rear bumper is wavy. These items are not readily noticable as evidenced in the photos. No rust through anywhere on the Westy, it has lived in California and Texas. . There is no propane tank but I see them on ebay for ~$100. The driver's seat has some wear but no tears and the armrest is missing. There are extra parts such as brake shoes and pads and some fuel injection electronics and touch up paint and the original radio. It originally had air conditioning but it is lost, and not really necessary in a Westfalia with the fiberglass roof. This Westfalia is clean and has all the shelves and cabinets and sink and stove and pop up camper top and fold out beds. It also has a class one hitch and trailer wiring jack. There are hook up hoses and wires for camping in the storage under the back seat. You will love it in person. These are appreciating investments and great fun for go anywhere camping or hunting. On Oct-10-11 at 14:25:39 PDT, seller added the following information: I have some inquires about the spare tire. It is monted under the front of the vehicle and the original tray looks rust free. Under the rear seat is the tire iron and the water hose and electrical cord for camping hookup. The metal gas lines are under there as well and it is capped off. Everything looks straight and rust free under there as well. For more pix email me at duntov1@tx.rr.com. I also have the rear hatch mosquito net.
