raoulduke101 Store Buy with confidence! As set forth below, if we make a deal, you can have the car inspected before paying the full purchase price. If you don't like the car after the inspection, you don't have to go through with the deal. You are looking at a beautifully restored 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible with the "C" code 289 V-8 engine, automatic transmission, and power top. The engine fires right up and runs super smooth. The dual exhaust puts out the classic, throaty 289 purr. The transmission shifts smoothly. Steering is tight. Restorations include new paint ("Springtime Yellow," which is the original color according to the codes on the VIN tag), new top (the frame is original and the electric motor works great), new exhaust, lots of new parts on the engine (distributor, spark plug wires, belts, hoses, etc.), repainted engine block (factory blue complete with "289" decal), repainted undercarriage, new dash board, plus lots more. The tires have nearly 100% of tread left. This car is completely unmolested, as all numbers on the VIN code match the color, tranny, body type, interior, and engine in this car. I do not know exactly what all was restored on this car, as I bought it from a subsequent owner. However, whoever did the restoration to this car did an excellent job and paid a lot of attention to detail. It appears that the gas tank and drive shaft have been replaced with new ones, but I cannot tell for sure. It also appears that the transmission linkage and brake lines have been replaced with a new ones, as all the parts look really new. I cannot find any body rust whatsoever on this car. Many cars of this vintage have really nice body paint, but have lots of rust in the engine compartment and on the undercarriage. The engine compartment and undercarriage of this car are virtually rust free and look almost brand new (see pics below). The car has manual steering and manual brakes. Be sure to check out the YouTube video below and take a virtual test drive. The car drives great and is a real head-turner. It runs great on the highway. The previous owner drove it over 500 miles to deliver it to me in December of last year. Windshield wipers, windshield washer fluid pump, horn, radio, turn signals, and heater all work. The only mechanical issue is that the car shimmies slightly at around 60 mph, which I am guessing is an out-of-balance tire or perhaps a bent rim. I have only owned the car since January, so I haven't taken the time to see what is causing this. Other than this, the car runs great at highway speeds. Also, the instrument lights, emergency flashers, and license plate light and interior courtesy lights are not working (interior courtesy lights fixed--it was a fuse). I hope to have these electrical items repaired before I deliver the car. Finally, the lens for the left tail light is cracked, but it can be replaced for $6.00. Includes 2 sets of keys, a repro owners manual, shop manual, and a repro brochure for the '66 Mustang line. I have receipts from the work a previous owner did and will send these to you on request. Feel free to contact me at 210.563.6871 with any questions. The car is located in San Antonio, Texas and is available for test drives or inspections. TRADES I will consider a trade/partial trade for a 1975-83 Toyota FJ-40 Landcruiser in excellent condition. TERMS OF SALE: A non-refundable $100 deposit is required within 24 hours of any offer being accepted. After that, the buyer has ten (10) days to inspect the car and pay the final balance (if you absolutely need more time, I can probably work with you but will likely require an additional deposit). If you aren't satisfied with the car after the inspection, you can cancel the transaction without receiving any negative feedback (the deposit will NOT be refunded). The option to cancel applies only if you actually inspect the car or have inspected by a third-party. After full payment, all sales are final. I will accept the deposit by PayPal, but the balance of the purchase price must be paid in cash or cashier's check/money order/wire transfer. If you pay by cashier's check/money order/wire transfer, the payment must clear my bank before I can release the car. Remember that this car is forty-five years old. Although I have done my best to describe the car and disclose the faults that I am aware of, the statements above are simply my opinions about the quality of the car. No car this age is going to be perfect and should be carefully inspected before purchase. Therefore, the car is sold "AS-IS," in its present condition, with no warranties express or implied. By clicking "Buy it Now" or making an offer on this car, the buyer agrees to these terms.
