Up for auction is my 1975 Toyota FJ40 Landcruiser. Features: Both hard and soft tops, two sets of doors (full and half), air conditioning, cruise control, HEI distributor, Weber Carb, American Racing wheels. I purchased the truck in southern California from a guy that was general manager of a Toyota dealership. He got the Landcruiser in the late 90's when it was traded in at the dealership and turned it over to his service department to be refurbished. They rebuilt the motor and transmission, replaced the interior and had it painted. I believe they added late model power steering and late model front disc brakes. This project took about two years to complete. When I bought the truck in 2006 it was in excellent condition but mostly stock other than the American Racing wheels and only had the hardtop. After I bought it I replaced 4:11 gears with 3:70's (still have 4:11's), installed Man A Fre front (winch ready) and rear bumpers, Man A Fre springs (2" lift) and Tuffy center console. I had the front end completely rebuilt, including steering knuckles. Also installedVintage Air A/C and heater unit (still have original heaters) and cruise control. Customized third brake light for added safety. Modified the driver's seat framing to extend back an additional six inches. The soft top and aluminum half doors came from TLC (Van Nuys, CA). Drop down tailgate with lockable compartment is from Man A Fre. Distributor was replaced with Performance Distributors HEI system (still have the original) and a Weber carb (still have original) was installed. I believe the engine to be original to the truck. Tires are Bridgestone Duelers (31x10.50R15L). They look to be in excellent condition with 85 to 90% tread remaining but were installed in 2000. Color is Cygnus White and is the original color. The truck was repainted around 2000 and the paint is in good condition. The right side full door had a scratch in the paint and I am having it repainted. The power steering system has a small leak and the shop that services it tells me its the seal on the end of the steering gear box. I topped off the fluid this spring and have not had to add any since. Buyer will not be disappointed with this truck. It is an excellent example of an unrestored but well maintained solid vehicle that can be driven for many years in its present condition.
