Barn Found 1966 Imperial LeBaron! Trades welcome! Stored in an old barn 30+ years after original owner started to get it ready to repaint. 50K miles on odometer. With a Factory Chrysler replacement engine. (Exact mileage on the engine is unknown other than it was replaced during the warrantee). The old man who bought the car new had a 2 year warrantee on the car and blew the engine during the second year. I am told by his grandson Chrysler Corp replaced the original 413 engine with a 1968 440 engine with a steel crank. The block does have the Chrysler factory replacement engine tag affixed above the right motor mount, as it should. The car appears quite clean with little to no rust through I can find. Not 100% perfect but darn close for a car this old. I am getting the history 2nd hand and must assume it to be as correct as possible since buying the car from the original owners family who titled it as 2nd owners on 06/ 24/2010. It runs and shifts into gear as it should. The bad: It needs brake work, Carburator, Vinyl top, Paint, tires, exhaust work, and the fuel tank cleaned. Missing 6 pieces of trim, 1 turn signal lens and possibly a couple extra pieces I havent found yet. I will allow the successful bidder to hear the car run with a temporary carburator I have on loan, to let folks see it has a sound engine and trans. Not my carb so it dont go with the car but I can use it long enough to let you hear for yourself that it runs good. Deposit: A $500.00 deposit is required at auctions end via PayPal to secure the deal! No deposit no sale and negative feedback will be left accordingly. If by some chance you dont feel like I represented the car correctly I will refund the deposit. However, it is a 45 year old car that has been sitting for 30+ years in a barn and some unknown items may be unforseen. I dont like deals that arent truthful and honest. Also found the build sheet under the back seat and managed to salvage it. Door panels are in very good shape as well. Most of these cars are already gone either in the demolition derbys or crushed for their scrap weight. This car in 1966 was made to compete with the Cadillacs and Lincolns of the same vintage. They were more expensive than both the Caddy and the Lincoln plus they produced far fewer of the LeBarons. Making these cars rarer than a 66 Cad or a Lincoln. I really dont want to sell the car to a guy who plans to demo derby the car but, I will if nobody steps up and wants to save a great car from such a horrible demise.
