Vehicle Detail
The car is a 1968 Chevelle with all of the badges, trim, hood and options of an SS 396 car. I recently took the car on trade and do have some details about it. The engine is an LS-3 396 (402) casting # is 3999290 The Transmission is a TH400 The Rear Axle is a 12 bolt 3.73 posi It has Power Disck Brakes with drilled rotors It has all new moog suspension components It has a huge aluminum radiator that looks close to new The body is very solid and has the original quarter panels, floor and trunk with no rot or soft spots, the doors are good, rh fender is good, lh fen has a small dent at the front and a couple blisters at the bottom, the hood is nice, rockers are solid and original. The car was repainted a very long time ago and was obviously a solid car to start with. The paint still shines but has many chips and flaws and is driver quality only. Like wise with the chrome and trim, most of it is pretty nice and it is all there. The frame is solid, clean and straight. The interior is in real nice shape for the year. It looks to be all orginal seats, carpet and upholstery. The tires are in very good condition BF Goodrich and are mounted on Centerline aluminum wheels. The engine starts right up and runs very strong. The oil presure is over 40 on the gauge. It has a Holley 750 dual feed carb, Edelbrock 2-0 intake, roller rockers, the heads are "336781" casting which I have been told are a prefered head because of their performance capabilty. I did not get a cam card or any internal specs on the engine. I have driven the car around town and took it down the highway and back. The transmission shifts good, never a slip, there are no vibrations driving the car. The 12 bolt posi, lays two black marks on the pavement as it should. The B&M shifter is awewful. It is easy to put into gear, and even reverse. But if you want to try to manualy shift it through the gears forget it. Also it has chrome valve covers and a chrome tranny pan. I am not a fan of aftermarket chrome stuff because it always leaks. The tires are in nice shape all the way around. They are mounted on Centerline aluminum wheels. The car has everything you would want in a keeper Chevelle. It is very solid, it has a big block, it has the SS trim, power disk brakes and 12 bolt posi. You are welcome to come and check it out. 330-868-8033 Jeff
