Vehicle Detail

1968 Camaro SS 396 4 speed 12 bolt rear end just finished three year restoration. Car was totally disassembled and was stripped down to bare metal. Installed NOS GM pass side fender and one used GM mint condition fender on driver side. Installed 80 percent quarter panel on both sides ( butt welded) and installed new outer wheel housings. Installed NOS Gm header panel and new lower valance. Hood, deck lid, and doors are original to car. Floors look great as well as trunk. Car had under coating (which I removed) and I believe that is what preserved the metal underneath so well. After car was stripped and body prepped it was sprayed with epoxy primer and then several coats of high build primer and blocked several times until it was straight. Car was then painted with lemans blue base coat and three coats of clear. Painting was done in a booth by a professional, afterwards all exterior sheet metal was reinstalled and body gaps were set. Car was wet sanded with 1500, 2000, and 2500 and then buffed out and polished. Interior is all original except for new carpet and headliner and is in excellent condition. Motor was rebuilt aprox. 3 years ago right before restoration was started and I have all paper work where machine work and balancing was done also have receipts for all new parts. Motor is not original to car and has a CE stamp on deck indicating a warranty exchange or crate motor and is dated1969. It has square port heads with winter’s intake and I just recently installed a new Holley 770 carburetor. The car has the correct exhaust manifolds for the smog system but the ports are currently plugged as I do not have the smog system. The transmission is a Muncie four speed that is not original to car and 12 bolt rear end with 4:11 gears. I believe this car to be an original big block car during restoration I removed the original tags on the front springs and the part numbers matched up to big block springs and I also removed the original heater hose blank off and saved it since this is a hard part to find they are reproduced but do not look like originals I have included pictures. I do not have any documentation with car such as POP etc. I do however have a clear title in my name. Car is an original four speed console car. The car has the original date coded Brake booster that I had replated and also has the original date coded hold off valve located on the frame underneath the driver side door. It has power front disc brakes with four piston calipers and power steering. All glass is original to car and is in good shape. All chrome is original to car and is in good shape as well. Below is a list of new parts installed: (Most new parts I installed I kept the original) New tail light bezels, all new weather stripping, new fuel line, new brake lines, new sub frame bushings, new carpet, new grille, all new emblems, new door handles, new water pump, new power steering pump, New crank pulley, power steering pulley, and alternator pulley all reproduction with correct part numbers for 1968 L78 big block Camaro. New Hood louvers, new rubber bumper kit, new tie rods, all new front end bushings, new reproduction spiral shocks front and rear, new battery tray, new battery, new battery topper, new under hood insulation, new heater hoses, new side marker light kits all around. I have receipts for all of the parts listed above and everything I have invested in the car well exceeds my reserve price. Please feel free to email me with questions and I will get back with you, as I am sure I have missed something here. No trades. Trim tag is as follows: 05E ST 68 12437 NOR144241 TR 714 U2 Problems I know of: There is a couple of small blemishs ( for lack of better word ) on the header panel. I hoenestly dont know what happened here I did not notice it while reassembling the car was going to remove header panel and touch areas up ( did not want to take chance with overspray) but never did get around to it. I have included the area in the pictures but dont know if you can see it. If you did not know it was there you might not see it in person but I know it is there. Car has an oil leak that I have not located yet. It is a small leak and will leave a few drops after it has been in the garage a few days. I nicked the paint on the pass side quarter panel and touched it up. You have to look for this to see it but is there so thought I would mention it. I also nicked the pant on the drivers door jamb and touched it up as well. Please email me with questions and I will answer them honestly leave a number if you like and I will get back with you. I also invite anyone to come by and see car I dont think you will be disappointed.
