Vehicle Detail

This is a great find on a head turning bike that rides like a dream and looks like a vintage classic. Maintained by local mechanic, this bike has never been rode hard or beat on. It has been stored indoors for the past three winters in an office. The bike was purchased with 1000 miles on it and it was shipped to Upstate New York from New Mexico. It has always had a clean title and it is ready to go to new home. I put 5000 miles on it putting around the Finger Lakes on weekends. It is one of three bikes I have and I am ready to thin the flock and concentrate on owning one machine. It has some extras, like tour bags, awesome pipes, a fly screen mini windshield and an eyelid headlight cover. There has been no engine work, just oil changes and safe riding. It is in excellent shape and being sold as-is. If you would like to have a mechanic inspect it, you are more than welcome. I am only interested in serious inquiries. If you've been wanting a new style Triumph but not the $9k price of entry, look no further. Review: The Thruxton 900 is such a faithful version of a sixties racer - with adjustable front and rear suspension, aluminium rims and floating front disc - and takes its name from the rare and near mythic racing Triumphs of that era. Thruxton has a revised stripe decal on the tank and seat cowl, a black engine with polished and lacquered covers. With its perfectly proportioned, evocative silhouette the Thruxton is a truly beautiful machine. It captures the very essence of the café racer look -- the short-style front mudguard, rakish clip-on handlebars, distinctive seat hump and Spartan elegance -- and matches it to exhilarating, fluid performance. Its 865cc air-cooled twin cylinder power plant is the most powerful of Triumph's twin-cylinder line up. Wrapping the motor is a precisely crafted chassis that inspires confidence; its harder edge delivering real sporting character. The sturdy, preload adjustable 41mm telescopic forks and twin rear shocks give superb suspension action and compliance. A fully floating 320mm front disc and twin-piston brake caliper provide powerful, but sensitive, braking performance. This is a bike that really involves the rider. The handling has plenty of feel with damping tuned for a sportier ride and pre-load adjustable front and rear suspension. The Triumph Thruxton. Classic style of the sixties mixed seamlessly with a modern attitude. On Sep-21-11 at 20:28:36 PDT, seller added the following information: I have added the VIN number SMT920K147T284119. Sorry for delay. Yes, this bike is available to be seen locally. You may email me at any time with questions. On Sep-23-11 at 07:14:01 PDT, seller added the following information: I have been getting quite a few questions about the value, "sell it now" pricing, why am I selling it, etc. 1) I alternate between this Thruxton and a Harley Roadster and I put about the same miles on each bike each summer. My mechanic and I are planning to customize the Harley over the winter and keep it for fun. 2) The current Kelley Blue Book value for a 2007 Thruxton is $5,545 in this area of the country/state and this does not include the extras. The performance pipes alone are valued at around $600. I added about $1,000 in goodies like the crash guards, tank guards, mini-fairing, saddle bags, micro turn signals and various detail stuff, like the bar end mirrors. 3) The average mileage for this bike according to Kelley is 6,553 and I am 500 miles below that number. 4) The bike has always had a clear title from NYS and it is in my hand. 5) I set the reserve(which has been met) between the average value and the trade-in value to be fair. The local Triumph dealer would sell the same year bikes with same miles for $6k or more. Happy Bidding!
