Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1969 Pontiac Firebird with a 350 engine and auto transmission. It has a 2 barrel carb and the original single exhaust. It starts every time and runs great for a 42 year old car. It has good tires and brakes. You might drive this car home if you are in CA or a neighboring state. This Bird was born and lived most of it's life in the Los Angeles area. It has the nicks and scratches to prove it. It has been a daily driver. I bought the car from an older fellow (82) down the street who was the original owner. I have the original California Pink Slip in addition to the new title in my name. It was well driven, but well taken care of as only an original owner can. The car is as stock as I can tell except for an old after market radio/tape deck. It is an AC car but the compressor is gone. (I am not sure if CA Pontiacs of this year had smog pumps, but there is none.) The car has had some restoration stuff, as the interior is beautiful. Nice upholstery, carpets, dash pad, and door panels. It looks like a new windshield. The previous owner said he spent $$$ on the engine top end a couple of years ago. I believe it is so - no smoke at start, no lifter noise, appears to have good compression, etc. The car has had at least two "backyard" paint jobs - from original Windward Blue (?) to orange and back to blue. The best paint is actually the trunk lid which looks to be a replacement piece. I tried to show pictures of most of bad areas so there is NO misunderstanding of what you are bidding on. The worst area is the rear corner of the right front fender, where it looks rusted through and filled. I believe a fender replacement may be available from Classic Ind, or one of those companies. The right rear window does not roll down; not sure why, but I did not want to force it. Much can be said about this car, but I believe the pictures tell the story. I am not an expert on Firebirds, I have no build sheet or option code info other then the firewall tag. The California Title is clear and in my name, and tags are good until the end of this November 2011. PLEASE ASK YOUR QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING! You are buying this car AS-IS ! I tried to give the best description I could. I would like a $500 deposit in my PayPal account within 48 HOURS of the close of this auction. Then a Cashiers Check, Bank Wire Transfer or CASH(US) for the balance within SEVEN DAYS of close of the auction. The car must be picked up within TWO WEEKS of the close of the auction. I am NOT interested in any "buy it now" deals off eBay, so please don't ask. The buyer will arrange and pay for shipping costs. I have sold several vehicles and boats on eBay through the years and will gladly work with the Winner and Transport company on pickup details. I will sell to Overseas bidders, but please contact me first so I can be sure you are legit. Thank you for looking at this great car. Time to get it restored with a great paint job!
