1996 Mercury Cougar XR7 4.6L V8 142,324 Miles My mom bought this car new from the dealership in 1996. I acquired the car about three years ago, but it has been in the family since new. The car spent most of it's life in California, but the last 3 years have been spent in Michigan and more recently in Utah. The car was used for a daily driver until about 2002, then it was driven on and off as an extra vehicle. The last 3 years the car has be driven regularly as a primary vehicle. I am selling the car because I acquired another car and do not have a need for a extra vehicle. The car runs and drives great and has been serviced regularly over the years. It has a newer battery. AC blows cold and heater works great. Front brakes were changed within the last two months. Rear brakes in the last year. Serpentine belt was changed a year ago. New tires were put on the car a little over a year ago and are over half way worn. The check engine light has been on for about 2 years because of a faulty Mass Air Flow Meter. I haven't remedied the problem because it doesn't affect the performance of the car unless you have the accelerator to the floor or you bring the RPM's over 3,000 (which I rarely do). The drivers seat leather and is cracking and missing the cougar symbol (see photo). I have posted a video of the car on youtube so you can take a virtual test drive.
