You are bidding on a 1970 Chevelle SS 396. Overall the car is in excellent shape. I have owned it since May of 2005. The individual I purchased the car from bought it from a restoration shop in Florida. I am selling it as an SS (bought it as an SS) however I do not have a build sheet. I have done all the research possible and cannot prove one way or another if it is a true SS, it does however have all the options of an SS. The car is not a numbers matching car but the engine and transmission are correct for this vintage Chevelle. The car has 94,364 original miles and is in excellent shape. I would describe the paint and body as in very good shape. It is not show car quality but as the pictures show it still looks great. The interior is also in very good shape, not perfect, but very good. I have added an aftermarket Custom AutoSound radio with MP3 port. It has a vintage look with modern features. The outstanding feature of this car is how it runs and rides. The engine (396 BB 350 horse) and the transmission (TH-400 rebuilt in 2006) are very strong. The frame is solid and the suspension has been completely rebuilt. The car rides like it did back in 1970, probably better. The car is garaged and has only seen rain once since I've owned it. I got caught in a quick shower coming home from a local car show (and yes it won best classic muscle car). I'm selling this car simply because I believe vehicles like this are to be preserved as a part of our heritage and enjoyed by those who appreciate them. I've done just that for 6 years and now it's time for someone else to enjoy this piece of classic american muscle.
