Vehicle Detail

NOTE*** EBAY cancelled my original listing because of the title type I selected. There was an option for rebuilt, reconstructed, or rebuildable that I selected because that is the type of title that is accurate for this specific vehicle. This vehicle previously had a salvage title but it has been inspected and recertified. Apparantly Autocheck has not gotten the updated info on the reissued title yet. All of the remaining information in the listing is the same. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. It was beyond my control. 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Clone- NO RESERVE This is an absolute sale. The $2500 BUY IT NOW price is our target price and will end the sale early. However the vehicle will be considered sold to be the successful high bidder, regardless of the price, at the end of the seven day auction if the BUY IT NOW option is not used. Price: $ No reserve Year: 1986 Make: Chevrolet Model: Monte Carlo Trim: Base Miles: odo reads 39,454 but likely is 139,454 VIN: 1G1GZ37H4GR186920 Stock #: Engine: 8-Cylinder 5.0 V/8 Color: Blue MPG: Options: 2 Door, 2 Wheel Drive, Rear Wheel Drive, Description: Nice 1986 Monte Carlo SS Clone. Body is solid. Car is an insurance recovered theft. Gonna need a little bit of work. Its a classic though and definitely still a fun car to own. Desirable and collectible. This one has a rebuilt title because of the theft. (previous salvage in Ohio but has been inspected and recertified) Its worth the asking price in parts. Its definitely not a parts car though. Just needs some loving care. Here is the low down on the car. It is not an original SS. The SS parts have been added. There is a Chevy 305 V/8 engine under the hood that starts right up and runs well. TH200 automatic transmission with overdrive. The engine has a brand new starter and alternator. Many components of A/C System have been replaced and work well. There is a brand new A/C compressor, new lines and a new accumulator. Also new belts on the engine. A lot of the suspension has been replaced as well. There are new upper and lower ball joints on both sides and new outer tierod ends on both sides and new shocks on all four corners. The car has a suspension lift, probably to accomodate larger wheels. The lift is lacking something in the front because with the added height the camber is way negative. I am not sure what the aftermarket has available to compensate for this camber angle issue but this car will need it if you plan on making it a daily driver. It drives fine but I can see a tire wear issue if you leave it this way. Or you can put stock coil springs back in it if you dont plan on installing 22in wheels or larger ones. That should return the camber to manufactures specs. We have added the aluminum wheels with 295/50R15 tires in the rear and 195/50R15 tires in the front. These are small given the lift that the car has been given but the would make a nice fit if you return the car to stock height. Over all this is a very cool old car. Definitely could be driven as a daily driver. Still affordable to drive with the 305 V/8 combined with the automatic overdrive transmission. I looked on ebay and see all the "original SS time capsule cars" that are priced between $12-$20k. Real nice cars but I would be afraid to have fun with them. This one is a driveable, solid and affordable Monte that you dont have to be afraid of scratching. You can tinker with it without having to worry about losing value yet it is still nice enough that you can spend some money making it yours and not have to worry about losing your butt if you decide to resell it. Seriously this is a lot nicer than all the broke down rotted out Monte Carlos SS's with no drivetrain that are for sale for $2500. The car needs the following: Camber issue addressed for the front suspension. Steering column repair. (damaged during a previous theft) Interior shows wear. Normal dash cracking and faded worn seats. Nothing extreme. Come check it out and drive it home!! Ask for Roy.
