Vehicle Detail

This is a “No Reserve” auction and the item will go to the highest bidder. I purchased this car for the sole purpose of using some of the parts to restore my elco. I’ve used all that I can and now it’s time for someone else to have a crack at it. This car can best be described as a project, and it would be a big one, or parts car. The major body panels are intact and usable. However, there’s some rust in the following areas; The lower rear left/right quarters, smugglers box, drivers side floor pan and a portion of the passenger side, lower left and right cowling. I’ve taken photos of those areas where I could find any major rust issues. However, I have not completed an exhaustive inspection of the vehicle to determine all its faults or assets. The doors and tailgate close fine, but the tailgate does not have any hinge support brackets. All the glass is intact and very usable. There’s no interior to speak of (see photos), and the bench seat in the bed is good for parts only. The chassis appears to be complete and rolls fine. The flat tire on the front right side will be made suitable to load the vehicle before the winning bidder takes possession. There currently isn’t any drive train. However, the car previously had a V8/Powerglide. The rear end is a ten bolt peg leg, w/ drum brakes at all corners. The firewall has been altered in what appears to be, a half baked attempt to install an a/c system. There are some items that are not currently attached to the vehicle, but are included. They are the following; Front left/right fenders w/ inner fender wells (some rust/dents – see photos), hood (no hinges & surface rust), front bumper w/ brackets (needs to be straightened/re-chromed), driveshaft, smugglers box cover, radiator support, bumper filler panel, center grille (its okay, but needs straightening), cowl vent grille. All these items will be loaded into the bed and cab only, and the car will need to be towed from its current location. If you don’t see any parts in the photos nor have they been described in the aforementioned, they are not included. Now for the title situation. I bought this car for the parts and didn’t care about the title. The car does have a valid California title, but it’s in the previous owner’s name. The individual I purchased the car from never titled the car in their name. I suspected the reason why was due to back fees, despite being told otherwise. In an attempt to ease the sale of the vehicle, I went to the DMV to title it in my name. As I had suspected, there were back fees due in the amount of $700 +/-. Needless to say, the car wasn’t worth it, at least to me, to pay that amount to transfer the title. The problem, and it may not be, is the DMV required me to fill out the request to transfer titled info. on the back of the “pink slip” just to determine the total fees due. I will assist anyway I can in providing whatever paper work needed in regard to relinquishing my interest in the vehicle. That being said, any potential bidders have been made aware of the situation. I suggest all bidders research what their state DMV will require before you bid. The winning bidder shall be responsible for arranging transportation of the vehicle. The car must be removed from my property within 21 calendar days, unless mutually agreed by both parties, of the close of the auction. If additional time is required, that request must be made within 5 calendar days of the close of the auction. If I determine the additional time is excessive, a fee for storing the vehicle may be required. Any storing of the vehicle will be outside, under a car cover. A 25% deposit, based on the winning bid amount, shall be paid within 5 calendar days of the close of the auction. The balance shall be paid for before the winning bidder takes possession of the vehicle, or within 10 calendar days of the close of the auction, whichever comes first. The vehicle is being sold “as is”, “where is” with no warranty, neither expressed nor implied. If the vehicle is not picked up within the time specified or mutOn Sep-03-11 at 09:13:10 PDT, seller added the following information: The vehicle is located in San Diego, CA. Bidders may contact me if they'd like to view the car in person.
