Vehicle Detail
I am selling my great running reliable 54,131 original mile Mustang. It is is the highly desirable fastback model and is a real head turner with only 1 repaint about 5 years ago in the original exterior color of Wimbledon White. At that time I added the correct '68 "C" stripe along with the original Ford cobra jet /Mach 1 hood scoop & red stripe. When I bought the car 5 years ago it still had about 95% of the original paint on it. I had it repainted because the primer was starting to show through and not because of any serious rust issues. It has all original '68 doors ( which open & close like brand new ), fenders, quarter panels, etc. The door, quarter panel & trunk seams are original & perfect. The underneath of the car including the floor pans, torque boxes & frame rails, etc are in great shape. ( there is only 1 small spot in the driver's side rear floor pan that the prior owner had patched a small spot ). It still has its original owners manual, door and dash tags. The interior is still all original and is the dark red color ( the carpet is just starting to show a little age, with fading and the headliner is in great shape except for one of the seams has come apart ). As you can see, it has the lower floor console, fold down back seat, and pop open gas cap. The chrome is in very good shape along with the trim pieces that only have a few minor imperfections. It is equipped with manual steering and brakes. I believe the engine to be the original 289 (I will be happy to provide any numbers that you request) other than a Holly 4 barrel carb and Ford cast iron intake have been added. It fires right up, idles perfect, and sounds awesome through the Flowmaster dual exhaust with headers. Nothing is more fun than shifting through the gears in the 4 speed transmission (came from factory with 3 speed but has been changed). It looks great in the Torq thrust style wheels mounted with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. If my reserve is met, I am requesting a $500 deposit by PayPal within 24 hours of the auction ending. Remainder is due within 7 days of the auction closing and is payable by cash or cashier's check. Car will only be released once funds have been cleared and guaranteed. Buyer is responsible for pick-up or shipping of this car. I reserve the right to end the auction early, as the car is for sale locally. The vehicle is being sold as is, and there is no warranty expressed, implied, or written. I live approx. 30 miles west of Cleveland, OH just off the Ohio turnpike and would be happy to show the car. Thanks and good luck! Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE On Sep-05-11 at 17:30:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks everyone for all your interest. Here is some additional information based on some of the requests. The VIN # is 8F02C165939 and according to the original owners manual identification the mustang was purchased on June 24, 1968 from Knox Motors in Muldraugh, Kentucky and the owner lived in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. The mustang now has from what I can tell a Ford 9" rear end as it has the large hump with no inspection plate on the backside and on the front side the 2 lower nuts cannot be accessed by a socket. I am also adding a few additional pictures as requested. Good luck!
