Vehicle Detail

This little Hot Rod Honda pays homage to the legendary #2 riddent to victory by Dick Mann in the 1970 Daytona 200. It also pays homage to the equally legendary #970 built by Vic World of World Motorcycles. Vic states there 180 unique parts for the CR750 which were basic Honda part numbers preceeded by a "970." Vic acquired approximately 160 over a lengthy period of time and doesn't feel it could be done again. I have zero parts prefaced with that number. I may have 970 new Honda parts on it, but none with that number. The engine is a stock rebuild. The pistons are JE 836cc overbore. New exhaust guides, the intakes were excellent. New intake valves, Kibblewhite valve springs. The bike has a Barnett clutch. The majority of rubber parts, bearings, seals, gaskets are all Honda. The swingarm now has bronze bushings instead of the stock plastic units. The fork pivots in tapered bearings instead of loose balls. The front master cylinder is Honda GL1200, the rear master cylinder and foot controls are Honda CBR600F3. The 1975 SuperSport was the first model with the rear disc brake. The front end has Progressive Suspension springs and Progressive Suspension shocks/springs are used in the rear. The electrics are new, refurbished and/or upgraded as in the rectifier and regulator are solid state. The tank is 28 liter custom fabricated in England. The exhaust is Swarbrick from England with the megaphones shaped by me. Buchanan rims support 18" Dunlop in the front and 17" Dunlop in the rear. I can answer any question as I have had every part in my hand at one time or another. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YO_cfaNFPWg This link should take you to a short video with the bike running. Lenny. I was given a wrong date for the Isle Of Vashon gathering this year and the event was not yesterday the 28th but apparently will be on September 11th. I had ridden the bike to work last week one day and then of course again yesterday down to the ferry dock. It runs out fine and is fun to ride. I will be out of town on the 11th and will not make the Isle Of Vashon event this year, doggone it.
