Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1985 Ford Utility Van in very good condition. We believe the size of the van to be an E350 or E450. It has dual rear wheels. When new, this van started as a fire education van with 'Fireman Marty' who traveled to schools to give fire prevention and safety demonstrations. The Cowlesville Fire Company purchased this van from Fireman Marty and put it into service as a utility vehicle. You can read more about this van by visiting www.cowlesville.com and clicking on 'equipment'. This van is 'Cowlesville 4'. The van starts, runs and drives well. It has always had regular maintenance. The van has always been stored indoors. The body is in very good condition. It runs and drives well. All emergency lights, radios and lettering have been or will be removed. The scene light that is shown in the pictures on the right rear of the vehicle will also be removed. Known issues: It was used in July to catalog house numbers and was used in a stop-and-go environment for a few hours. The brakes overheated and became very weak. They have worked fine since. For this reason, the van is being sold as having known brake issues. It is up to the buyer to have the brakes evaluated by a certified merchanic to verify they are not defective. The center plastic console has holes drilled into it (see picture) from where the radios and light controls were mounted. There are holes where the emergency lights were located. The lights were a surface mount style, and a factory drilled hole remains where each light was located, including the light bar on top of the cab. The holes are currently covered with duct tape. There is a small refrigerator located in the rear. It may or may not work. The van is neither registered nor insured. It can be started, but not driven. It is locateed at 361 Clinton Street, Cowlesville, NY 14037. Call 716-560-4336 to schedule an in-person inspection. This van is being sold by the Cowlesville Fire Company, an all-volunteer organization. No warranty can be extended on this vehicle.
