Up for Auction is my 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport with only 87,530 original miles. I have owned this vehicle since 2004, purchased from a dealer in Lansing, MI. It was my daily driver for several years. It has been in storage for the last four years (in a clean, dry garage). I was planning on making an offroad performance 4x4 out of it, but never got started on the project. This week I drained the gas tank, added fresh gas and fuel treatment, re-installed the battery, and it started right up on the third or fourth crank of the starter, just as it always has. The good:Low original miles, engine runs strong. Brand new Goodyear Wrangler RT/S tires in the largest size for the stock rims (235 75 R15) with < 5 miles on them, literally the distance between Sears and where the vehicle is stored, they still have the little nubs on them. New brakes (pads and rotors). No rust. Anti-theft system. The interior is fairly clean, I cleaned the all the carpets and the upholstery is is decent shape with no stains, rips or tears. Just before I put it in storage I epoxied the garage floor where it's being stored. When I pulled it out for the pics, the floor was clean and dry except for a small spot where a bit of rear differential fluid leaked - nothing whatsoever under the engine. This XJ is not in "perfect" condition - I obviously want to get the best price I can for the vehicle, but more importantly I'm proud of my 100% feedback and will do my best to disclose everything about the vehicle I'm aware of - I want the buyer to be as informed as possible. The bad:The front passenger door has a small crease/dent where a kid on a bike ran into it from the handlebars of a mountain bike. The rear passenger door has a very shallow baseball-sized depression from the same incident, that one could probably be popped out without any type of body work. The paint overall is in decent condition, a few light scratches here and there like around the door locks and the top of the rear bumper from loading/unloading the hatchback. The only real paint issue beyond the normal age-related wear and tear are a dozen or so thumbnail-sized spots limited to the hood area, where tree sap had baked onto the black finish. I tried to buff them out and the sap itself must have damaged the paint - buffing removed a couple of layers of paint along with the sap, leaving small shallow divots. They aren't all the way through, it's merely cosmetic. The plastic exterior trim shows some typical oxidation as well as some green discoloration on the front bumper guards/corner pieces. The aforementioned minor leak in the rear differential - when it was my daily driver I was taking it to a local Valvoline shop in Lansing for fluid changes. They noted the problem then, added fluid and recommended I have the seal replaced. Never got around to it, but have researched it since on the various Jeep forums and it's a fairly common issue and simply a matter of popping off the cover, cleaning the seal area with Scotchbrite pads, resealing with RTV sealant, and replacing the differential fluid. I'm going to try and get it taken care of this week, but count on that needing to be addressed unless I note in the listing that it's been completed.I'll be adding a ton of additional photos in the next couple of days detailing everything mentioned and descriptions of anything else I can think of. I'll probably lower the start price as well - I just wanted the auction to end at a specific time and wanted a little more time to revise the description while there are no bids.
