Vehicle Detail

Very original 1932 Buick, Model 57, sedan, 8 cylinder, 3 speed on the floor. Car runs good, accelerates and drives, shifts, steers well. Brakes operate very well, exhaust system is quiet ( needs a tail pipe). As you can see, body needs restoration but is a good solid candidate with no rot out in doors, sills, fender edges or underside. Frame and undercarriage are in good, clean shape Only rot spots are on rear portion of driver's fender , the splash aprons, and on the lower left portion of the car body rear where it meets the gas tank cover. (see pic). Some surface rust. Doors hang perfectly and open and close well. Rocker panels are are very solid. All leaf springs are in good shape with no sag. Steering is responsive not sloppy. Note: three of the four hood latch handles are broken. The top wood needs replacement however there is enough left for patterns. Front floor wood and running board wood need replacement also. The interior is shabby and the upholstery is shot. The back bench portion of the rear seat is missing. Note:Snyder's Model A Parts in Ohio, can make custom seat springs for any car. All glass is in place and good, all windows work, all door and window handles are present. All three original window shades are in place. Headlights and ALL gauges work. Heat riser levers, spark cable, choke cable all operate well. Generator charges. Strong six volt battery starts car right up. All light lenses are in excelllent shape. Wood wheels are solid, rims are in good condition. Car has four, almost NEW, Lester blackwall tires, size 550 x 18 plus an excellent spare tire. All hubcaps are in place, three are excellent, one has small dent. Original crank hole cover is in place in radiator shell. Gas tank was removed, power washed/steamed out ,found to be in good condition, reinstalled on car. Car runs off this tank perfectly. Carburetor and fuel pump were recently rebuilt. New spark plugs and steel core wires recently installed. Oil changed several weeks ago (20W50). Original, (somewhat rusty) Buick tools included. Car has tendency to run hot and can boil over after a while. I suspect the radiator and block could use a serious back flush. WIth some time and effort, this Buick could be a nice example of early thirties luxury cars. I do not have the title to this car. Can only provide a bill of sale. Five hundred dollar deposit required within 48 hours of auction end. Balance due within five days. Buyer assumes all responsibility for pick up and transportation of this car. No guarantees or warranties are stated or implied.
