I literally just drove it OVER 600 MILES to Indianapolis and back on a little weekend trip. I observed over 26MPG and it may have been more at times. Being a non-turbo 2.4 liter, the car sips gas. It was a joy to drive. Smooth. Straight. Reliable. I would happily drive this car anywhere! You can too! BID, BUY, DRIVE ANYWHERE WITH 100% CONFIDENCE!! No worries. The exterior is an EASY 9 out of 10! Seriously. Sure it has some light scuffs and scratches....all can easily be removed from a quick buff from your favorite detailer. No visible rust. Light rock chips on the nose. Only a handfull of dings and no dents. Bumper covers look great and no signs of any major repairs...in fact, I'd go as far as saying no repainted panels or replacements. Original. This car looks, runs and drives as an 80k car! I rotated the tires as the rear (now on front) had a little more tread. Tires have plenty of life left and are siped for better rain control. The car drives smooth with only a hint of tire/road noise.No vibrations or pulling. Upon inspection, it seems to have new wheel bearings, CV halfshafts and misc suspension parts...all volvo replacements. All replaced by Volvo Techs or Volvo dealership. Recent rear brakes and I'm installing new pads up front as the old ones were thin. No pulsing. Beautiful shine throughout. Awesome reflection! Rear wing compliments the car very well. Gives the "base(???)" model a sport look! Here you can see some of the deeper scratches. Mostly on the rear fenders. Again....touch em up and buff....or just leave em! Volvo works in weird ways when it comes to options....this car is considered a "base" model...yet sports darn near EVERY option as if it were a T5, etc. Leather, heated seats, sunroof, power everything (seat, locks, windows, cruise, roof), even has the front driving lights! But no turbo....= MPG....15" tires for cheap replacement! Here you can see ALL the dummy lights illuminate upon startup. Car now has 192k. Engine light popped on then off while on my trip. I'm sure it's minor as Volvo's are sensitive. The "ABS" and "TRACS OFF" lights are intermittent....this is a typical high miler thing on Volvos. It's a wheel sensor. My personal 98 S70 T5 with 220k miles does the same. Also...while on my trip, I noticed the cruise worked fine...then wouldn't the next. Not sure why but it's intermittent. Interior is easily a 9 out of 10! Note the control panel on the radio. The car sports a 10-disc Sony CD Changer! No cartridge tho....easily available for about $10 on Ebay. I didn't show it because I didn't look hard enough, but the factory window sticker is also included!! It shows the car listing for OVER $33,xxx!!! Comes with all the manuals, sticker, factory floor mats, one key and one working nearly new keyfob! Below that are shots of the perfectly running engine and perfectly shifting transmission. I can say that altho the car didn't live at Volvo for servicing, I can say it lived at a Volvo mechanic at least! How do I know?? The timing belt for example....it's a "Contitech" brand....which is Volvo's aftermarket (non dealer) line. It also has a "Mahle" air filter, had Volvo spark plugs (I replaced with new NGKs) and Mahle oil filter. So....yes...the timing belt was replaced by Volvo at 78k/2003 and again later at some point with a Contitech. Visually the belt looks recent...no splitting or cracking. No worries! No visible signs of any oil or coolant leaks. Completely dry underneath...no spots on my shop floor while parked. Recent Interstate battery. Only remaining comment to make is regarding the air conditioning. I topped it off with 2 cans of freon for my trip. The air is ICE COLD....was ice cold. It lasted my entire 3 day driving trip but the system must have a tiny leak...as I can't hear the pump turn on or feel the cold after over a week of sitting. Sorry, I don't have the proper equipment to diagnose or repair. Just be informed the the entire AC system does work. I currently as of 8/26/11 do NOT have the title in my hand. The car was a Volvo Dealer trade-in. I should have it within days as I can't imagine someone having a LIEN/LOAN on a 192k car! Big stealerships do papaerwork in bulk and send em out in batches. If for some reason I don't have title in my posession upon your arrival for pickup, I will NEXT-DAY title to you. And....yes...I will give you paperwork stating so! No worries.
