Vehicle Detail
I have finally come to the conclusion that I have far too many projects and will never finish restoring them all. This 1971 Caprice 4 door hardtop (sport sedan) has been in my keeper stash for a while but reality has sunk in and I would rather sell it to someone with the time to restore it. Whether you want to put it back to factory condition or “donk” it out or use it in a demolition derby, I’ll leave that decision up to you. This car is from the dry state of Oklahoma and I have a clear title for it. This Caprice is complete, everything under the hood and inside is all there. It has an outstanding clean body. This isn’t your typical Midwest rust bucket that will require body panel replacement, even the trunk pan is nice. Originally it had a vinyl top, but those hot Oklahoma days had their way with it. No rust around the vinyl top moldings like 90% of these had, and it has the one-year 1971 only vented trunk lid. Chevrolet called it “Astro Ventilation”. This was the only year Caprice that has the vented trunklid. This Caprice is equipped with factory original fender skirts - a nice bonus! The 400 small block engine appears to be locked up. When I purchased it several years ago the owner informed me that he went out to start the car in the morning and it wouldn’t turn over. I used a jump battery and it wouldn’t turn over, so I parked it with my other “to do” cars. I don’t think that the engine would be locked from sitting overnight, but worst case scenario it would possibly need an engine. Small and big block Chevy engines are plentiful and cheap. If you want to build or restore a nice Caprice, this is a great foundation to start from. I do have many other 1971-76 Chevy Impalas and Caprices for sale and for parts and could help with locating anything to help you restore this one. I will assist the winning bidder with loading it onto your truck or trailer, or if you arrange for it to be shipped by truck transport. I would entertain the idea of delivering it depending on where you live; to be discussed after the auction is over. This car is listed for sale locally, and could get sold before the auction ends. Bid to win..... Thanks for checking out this clean Caprice. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION!!! Opening bid is $100.00...
