Vehicle Detail
She's a 2002 R1150GS Adventure (BIG Brother of a GS) with a 7.9 gallon tank. Very little about this motorcycle is stock. There are 52,853 well earned miles on the bike and she's in pretty fine shape considering the miles and adventures. She's ready for the next version of "The Long Way Around". The stock dash is completely gone. The dash base is made from high impact 5/16 ABS plastic. Its custom formed to hold the following: Touratech IMO 100R50 Rallye Computer - http://www.touratech-usa.com/Store/PN-011-0401/IMO-100R50-Rallye Billet Tell Tale Block that includes all the functions of the standard BMW Tell Tale display Ram Mount for a Garmin Quest/Quest 2 GPS and 4 standard cigarette lighter plugs (I like a spot of tea while charging my Zune). The is NO Rider Information Display (RID). The Garmin Quest goes with the bike and I have recent North America updates. The wheels are BMW billet aluminum spoke wheels ($1200 each). The exhaust is a complete Remus stainless steel system. The catalytic converter is removed (saves over 20 pounds). The seat is a BMW low profile seat. The top pannier is a BMW that has been sprayed with industrial bedliner. The side panniers are custom from MS Motosport and also sprayed with bedliner (as have the skid plate and hand guards). She has a Touratech steering stop protector and Touratech fork protectors. The lights are PIAA Model 510 white driving lights. The windscreen is a Cee Bailey 18 inch with light tint. The bike came standard with heated grips and ABS (on/off). The ABS was removed years ago. Maintenance in the last 6 months: The throttle bodies have been rebuilt, polished, and synched in the last 6 months. New Odessey gel battery, Michelen Anakee 2 tires, K&N felt air filter, front duck bill. windscreen mounts, throttle bodies & vacuum lines. All work is done by a certified BMW mechanic. I know its a lot of information but I don't want anyone to think this is a typical Adventure. I have the bike for sale locally (and reserve the option of ending the auction)but will help arrange transportation for the winning bidder or buy her, fly to Phoenix, and let the Adventure begin! Thanks for looking!
