Vehicle Detail
This is the first year of production for Goldwing. This motorcycle was in great shape until I let it sit for two years. One of the carb needle valves is stuck , so fuel pours into it. Consequently, it does not run well. Previous to this issue, I have taken it in for tuneups to a local shop, and the mechanics told me it's in good shape. It certainly drove nicely for the ten years I have had it. The brakes, drive shaft, rims, charging system, frame, instruments, lights all work as they should the last time I rode it, with the exception of the rear brake reservoir now leaking. The tires are Dunlop and still have lots of tread (they have 3,200 miles.) The tail light modulates when you brake, and the low beam head light modulates during daylight. There is a switch to inactivate the headlamp modulation. When I first had the motor checked, in May of 2001, the compressioin on the cylinders was 145#, 150#, 140# and 143#. There has not been much mileage put on in the ten years I have had it. When the tires were installed in July of 01, the mileage was 34,733. I've only put 3,000 miles on the bike during the time I have owned it. I have the receipts for the service which has been done on this motorcyle. There is a Vetter fairing and windscreen, and Samsonite hardbags. The color is not original, a previous owner repainted it in an automotive shop with a candyapple red. So far as I know, it's never been in an accident, and has been keep in a garage for at least the past 15 years. There isn't any major rust, no major dents. It's been ridden, so I can't say it looks like new, but it's pretty nice.
