Tiptronic 4 speed. I purchased this lovely lady from the estate Of all his many cars he said he loved to drive this one the most. I have had and still have a few Porsche's and I agree. She has 93,000 well cared for miles on her. She is as you can see Slate Gray. . The cars produced in the first 6 months in 92 had a recessed Porsches badge on the hood. Mine does. Very rare. If you are unfamiliar with the 968 or think it is nothing but a redone 944 here are some specs. for you. In 1992 only 1440 were shipped to the US. Of these only 700 were convertibles. In the 4 years it was produced from 1992 to 1995 only aprox. 4600 cars came to the US 2200 were Cabs. It is powered by the largest 4 cyl. engine in production a 3.0 liter with 236 HP. Porsche took back the 944 from Audi and remade 80% of it to make the 968. We are talking from the suspension on up. My baby has been completely gone through. She has: All available service records from CT, AZ and CA Fresh tune-up 91000 miles New brakes all around. All the belts and hoses done. Including timing belts rollers and pulleys New 6 year battery New Transmission Damper Plate. While the trans was removed for damper plate I had all the lines replace. We also cleaned vents and lines around the gas tank. Transmission and radiator flushed added new fluids . Of course new factory water pump . New Convertible top and boot at 85000 miles. Tires have under 10,000 miles on them. Fully gone through and kept up to date by Performance Imports of Bethel CT She is FAST and ready to roll. Top speed 156 mph. Stays in a corner like a bad kid with 50 50 weight distribution. I have given my my honest assessment of my 968 and have been assured she is road worthy but there is no warrenty given or implied. On the down side ..............she has some sunburn on the window armrests from CA. The air conditioning doesn't work and the covertable top is manual but easy to handle Some minor interior flaws that you would have to look hard to find. Serious buyer only PLEASE call 203-426-4148
