Vehicle Detail

I have here a 1978 Chevy El Camino with 71,000 original miles that has a 1969 Camaro 327 high performance motor. The motor, transmission and rear end were all rebuilt and only have 20,000 miles on them. The specs are as follows: engine code K03 06FB, 1969 camaro 327-350HP, 327-350 edelbrock cam with 467 lift, edelbrock intake manifold with edelbrock 1405-600cfm 4 barrel carb, 305 ported and polished heads with 3 angle valve job, moroso pistons, flow tech afterburner headers, dual exhaust with vortex high performance welded mufflers, 3.42 posi rear end with auburn gear, 350 heavy duty transmission, fairbanks shift kit, hurst shifter. The following parts were replaced when the engine was rebuilt and only have 20,000 miles on them: inner and outer tie rods and sleeves, upper and lower ball joints, gas tank, water pump, radiator, heater core, oil pan, starter, rear shocks, windshield, hoses, sending unit, tachometer, vacumn gauge and water temp gauge. These parts are new with less than 200 miles on them: fuel pump, fuel filter, ignition module, alternator, battery, positive and negative battery cables, spark plugs, 4 new B.F. Goodrich tires, brake lines, fuel line, master cylinder, brake calipers, brake drums, rear wheel cylinders, 4 wheel alignment, new wheel bearings including all the bearings in the rear end, all light bulbs replaced, new brake plate on drivers side. So as you can see most of the parts on this car have been replaced. It comes with its original jack which works just fine and there is also a full size spare tire on the same rim that is on the car. All the fluids have been changed and the engine has only seen Mobil-1 synthetic oil. Now the interior. It is in nice overall shape, the gauges and all accessories work, I did put in a new pioneer radio & cd player and 2 new sony 6x9 speakers, the door panels look good, the windows roll up & down properly, the bench seat is likely not original as it has an ash tray on the back of the seat and there is no back seat so who would use the ash tray. The top of the dashboard has a few cracks but I put on a dash cover and it looks much better that way. When I washed the car the sunroof had a leak so I sealed it and the leak has stopped. When the sunroof was installed the headliner was removed and never replaced and I dont have it so that is something you would have to replace. The glass is all good with no cracks. The bed has been done over with wood and the edges were all sealed. The bumpers are solid and have no dents and shine up pretty good except for the top part that shows some wear. The front bumper on the passenger side needs to be pulled out a bit or it can be left alone. The body looks nice and some body work was done, mainly at the bottom of the doors and the rear quarters. It shined up nice after it was waxed but the paint isnt perfect with some imperfections here and there. One small dent on the rear corner. The undercarraige was cleaned up, sanding, rocker panel repair, some patching, the section that the gas tank straps lock into was rebuilt and what I could reach was sprayed with a rust preventative paint. There are no leaks, oil pressure is great and the engine does not run hot. If you dont like the graphics on the side of the car, they are vinyl and can easily be removed. The only issue I know of is that there is a shake in the car, mainly on the highway. The front end is tight, tires all balanced, car aligned and the rear end checks out fine. My mechanic insists that the problem is that the front tires are too big and there is a spacer. He feels that if the spacer is removed and narrower tires are put on the problem will be gone. I have gone to some cruise nights and was in a car show last week and the car gets a lot of attention. It looks cool and sounds tough and I am sick about having to sell it after all the work that has gone into this car. I have spent $3000 in just the last few months but I am retired and on a fixed income and this car is a luxury that I can no longer afford as I have new priorities that take precedence so I have no choice but to sell it. MUCH work, time and money has gone into this car and you can drive the car like it is, continue restoring it or if you have another chevy project the engine, tranny, rear end and tires alone are worth my starting bid. I know that bidders dont like reserve auctions so I have no reserve and my starting bid is well worth it! I have tried to be thorough in my description but please feel free to ask questions. A $1000 deposit is required within 48 hrs. of the end of the auction. Balance due within 7 days. I have the car under cover and will give you up to 3 weeks to pick it up as it is not in the way and I know it can take a little time to arrange pickup. Thanks!
