Vehicle Detail

http://rides.webshots.com/album/100315237NfMgPS 1970 Austin America (built late 1969). 2 door, Autumn Harvest (sort of caramel), Black Vinyl roof, 4 Speed manual, 1298CC, single SU carb. It features a custom intake manifold, headers, and a complete custom 1 ¾” exhaust. Over the many years I have owned this car it was a daily driver until 3 years ago when I was taken out by an errant driver while walking across the street. The car was started periodically, last a year ago in July 2010. It was last driven two years ago, and made a noise and vibration that I believe is a bearing in the trans. Now, after sitting, the clutch pedal is no longer functional. The clutch, which was replaced only a few thousand miles ago, but probably 10 tears ago, does not engage. I can start the car and rev the engine but no matter what gear I put it into, it will not move under power. I did roll the car down the drive, last year, so the brakes were not seized at that point. The sitting also took a toll on the driver’s floor, which now is a bit Fred Flintstone. I had taped off the air intake in front of the windshield, but that didn’t stop the leaks after a while. Sills are also subject to the usual East Coast rust spots. I have extra parts that go with the car. There are wheels, both side Hydraulic tubes, some trim, a dash, a grille, and some alternators and starters. I have a front and a rear subframe as well, at a nearby location to the car, and arrangements can be made to pick that up after the sale, with no additional cost. They have displacers attached. This engine was disassembled and the trans rebuilt for $2400 a few thousand miles ago, but the dolts did not tighten the drain plug after reassembly to the engine. It lost oil in about 3 miles, and was towed back and torn down and inspected. The Main and Rod bearings were changed just to be safe, but everything looked good. Apparently, a bearing gave out within a few thousand miles. Then I got run over, and the car has been sitting. It had new tires, radial 145-65-12, and performed quite well with the headers and improved intake. I have also a few carbs and a dual intake, but not sure all the linkage is there. I have extra windows, including vents, and rear side windows, extra gauges, and tune up parts and oil filter cartridges. Carpets are non-existent, driver seat has a rip, the rest look great. One seatbelt has a cracked plastic. I have put thousands into the car over the years with few miles added, including front swivel hubs, rebuilt Front Calipers, new not rebuilt master cylinder and wheel cylinders, new rear shoes. I repaired the brake line in the rear with a patch, and replaced the front hoses. I replaced the clutch slave. I believe that the clutch system is now lock in the depressed position, as I Have no pedal, but also the clutch is disengaged, as stated above. This is a great project or parts for your project. There is a healthy functioning group of ADO16 owners who are the most helpful folks in the world, dedicated to keeping them running. I love this car, but I have moved to Florida, the car is in Pennsylvania. It is not worth my moving as I have no where to put it. I sold this car and parts locally for $800.00. The buyer promised to pay and pick it up for a year, and finally brought back the parts, except the subframes, this week. They are a few miles away from the car. Thus this sale. You tell me what it is worth. It needs to move away from the drive it is in. See pics at http://rides.webshots.com/album/100315237NfMgPS Email me with any questions. Thanks for looking. Now go bid!
