1996 Buick Regal Custom, Series 2. 3800cc. The good: Starts every time, sits on the highway at highway speed with no problem, returns approx 22 mpg, a reliable vehicle The bad: cooling fan just went out, so no a/c. It doesn't overheat while moving. There is a knock coming from the back, possibly the exhaust braket or a strut. Radio works, the car will need an antennae, cd player does not, it has a cd stuck inside. There is a small coolant leak that comes out of the manifold I've been told. A small oil drip from the valve cover gasket. It leaks about a qt every 3000 miles. Check engine light is on, it shows a transmission slip, I think the sensor my be faulty because I have no issues driving on the highway. It cruises at 70mph at about 2400 rpm, so its not slipping The tires have some good life left on them, it brakes in a straight line, though I would suggest rotors and pads on the next brake service. I think this car will be great for the home mechanic to bring it up to scratch, or a perfect donor car for another project. Body work is in fair shape for its year, a little faded and a couple of small dents and scratches. It has no major rust underneath. It will need a good clean out, the car was a family car before I bought it last year, I haven't given it a good clean out yet.
