Vehicle Detail

Let me tell you what I know about this car. In the early eighties, it under went a complete restoration of the drive train, interior and exterior. After completion and a great deal of expense , it was used mostly to go to car shows. As you can see by the pictures, it has one several first, second, and third place trophies in the eighties and nineties. It was owned by a man that was disabled and when I bought it it had the adapter for the brake and gas on the steering wheel. I belive it was retired and stored in the early nineties inside a conditioned space and was placed for sale a couple of years ago. I bought the car sight unseen and it had not been started in years, and had it shipped to me. I spent a couple of weeks working on it. I changed the gas tank, cleaned the fuel lines, replaced the carburator, drained all fluid, installed new fluids, installed a new top pump, installed new spark plugs, and started it up. To my amazement the 390 started right up sounded like a new car. Sadly, it is now time for me to part with several of my old cars. I am about to retire and will be downsizing and do not have room for them. I have listed the car with no reserve and hope that it will sell for a fair price and go to a new owner that can appreciate it and enjoy it as much as I have. The car is in great condition and runs like new. The exterior has a terrific paint job on it and I have only been able to find a few minor flaws. There are three very small dings on the trunk that I took a picture of but they are hard to see. The chrome looks great except for the bezel over the passenger rear tail light light shows signs of thinning. The large whitewall tires appear new but I am sure they are at least 15 years old but really do not appear to be dry rotted. The under carriage of the car is 100% rust free and looks really clean but is not spotless. The interior of the car also looks really nice with some signs of use and a small seam coming unsewn on the rear seat, not bad but I wanted to point out everything. The electric top works perfect and looks great. The rear window is clear and zips up fine. Here are the things that need a little attention. I pulled the steering wheel and replaced the detent plate so it would not jump out of park (a common problem on these cars) when I reinstalled it I must of not placed the turn signal switch right and they won,t work right, an easy fix. The interior dash lights are not working, may be a fuse, I have not looked into it. The windows all work from the switches but some times get slow or need help. I took it out for a drive and it had a slight wobble on the front end, It is probably the tires sitting for a while.I am stating all this because I value my feedback and do not want to waste my time with buyers who change their mind and claim I did not represent the car properly. This car comes with the original invoice and a stack of receipts for work preformed over the years, and even though it is not perfect, it is pretty close for a 50 year old car. Notice the correct looking battery. Please only bid if you are in a position to make the deposit and final payment as outlined.
