Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a real 442. This car is not a clone. It went through a frame on restoration last summer. The paint is spectacular. This looked to be the second repaint. It was sealed, primed, base coat, and clear coated. The clear was wet sanded three times. Paint used was Sikkens. The car is now a triple black car with silver stripes. It came from the factory triple green. The previous owner had redone the interior to black. I removed the old vinyl top, epoxy sealed the roof, then installed a new top from legendary interiors. It was professionally installed and looks good. The windows are in good shape and function correctly. The body is in good shape. We welded in some new metal in the quarters. The bumpers are original and the rear was rechromed. This is not a numbers matching car but one with a 455. It has an Edelbrock intake and carb with electric choke. The previous owner said it has a mild cam in it. It does have a nice lopy idle so I think it does have the cam. It has headers going into dual exhaust out the trumpets which sounds awesome. I get a lot of compliments on the sound. The engine is rebuilt and does not leak or burn oil. Factory posi with anti-sway bar. Shocks were upgraded to coil overs. The previous owner rebuilt the tranny. It looks and functions like new. It chirps second gear if the tires aren't still spinning. This car is quick. New tail lights and side marker lights. New weather stripping. This is an air conditioned car but the compressor is removed. I have it and it will go with the car. Heat works but the fan seems to only work on high. Factory radio is in it with an Alpine CD player in a carpeted box. Bench seat is factory and is rare for a 442. Known problems - The left rear wheel has a broken stud for the lug nut. The alternator belt ocassionally squeals. The lower radiator hose has a leak in it. I put tape on it and it is holding. The battery tray mounting plate is rusty so the tray is mounted in a non stock location. I have a new steel plate but I never got around to installing it. Someone must have forgot the key and needed to get in the glovebox so they pulled it open and ruined the paperboard box. The glovebox door is fine but it doesn't close properly. A quick fix but one I didn't get to. The gas tank is new and the brakes and lines are newer and work perfect. The car drives straight as an arrow and can be driven anywhere.
