Vehicle Detail
This pristine and pampered family pet came to us via our web site. A friend of the original owner contacted me and said he wanted to find a good home for this 1,900 mile original motorcycle that had rarely been driven but always kept inside his house on display and started and turned over occasionally. I snapped it up and then came the dilemma.....should I keep it original or tear it down to the bare frame and clean and do whatever it takes to get rid of the 44 years of aging this original museum piece had accumulated. We decided to do a partial resto. So we set about to cleaning, shinning, rechroming and painting, using all the original parts down to every nut and bolt...except the mirrors, battery and spark plugs. This bike runs perfect, just as it did when we first set eyes on it, we did all the maintenance, oil and filter change, carb cleaning, etc. and the result you can judge for yourself at my photobucket site that shows the bike before, during and after our restoration. There is also a video on the site that shows the bike starting and running. Check it out! http://s560.photobucket.com/albums/ss49/jwalte01/1967%20CB77/ The bike has all the original parts including the tires that are in remarkable condition showing no wear or age cracks at all. You might want to replace the tires if you plan on riding it very far but we decided to keep the bike intact for the the new owner to decide, can't get much more original than that.In anticipation of what I am sure will be the most asked question....."has the bike ever had any engine work?" The answer is "heck no'! This Superhawk has been lovingly maintained and never left sitting too long without it being started up or ran around the block. And it only has 1,900 miles on it. It runs like a new bike, no engine noises, and no leaks. I wasn't going to mess with a bike that Mr. Honda built. These bikes are bulletproof, and only one thousand nine hundred miles. Try to find another one like it.The tool kit is also included with the bike and all the tools appear unused.Maybe you owned one of these when you were a kid, or always wanted to own one. in either case, this is a special bike and I have not seen one this nice on ebay....ever...We have a put a lot of time, money and effort to make it look like it does, but the special part is it's history. It has been loved and cared for for almost a half century and mostly kept on display...where will you find another one with only 1,900 actual miles?Check out the photos, ask questions, check our feedback and bid with confidence. This bike will win trophys and provide many years of enjoyment for the new owner. We just got back from inspecting and registering the bike and we had five guys come up to us when we stopped for gas, at the inspection station and at the DMV that could not believe how beautiful it was and the comments ranged from. "It looks like a new bike" to "I always wanted one like this when I was a kid" to "You're kidding me...."that bike can't be a 67, it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor." Please be sure that you have the money to purchase the bike if you are bidding. All the inspections must be done before the auction closes. Keep in mind that this classic bike is over 44 years old. Any description on the condition of this bike are my opinion, depending on the buyers expectations(and I have had many times experienced differing opinions from potential buyers) and their grading of bikes on a scale of 1 to 5 with five being pristine like new. Again, my opinion, I would rate this bike a 4+Please remember that things always seem to look better in pictures. So you are more than welcome to come see it in person, and if you are not sure, please don’t bid. As I am expressing how I see the vehicle. Your bid is your contract. Please place bids only if you are serious about buying the item. If you have the winning bid, you are entering into a legal binding contract to purchase the item. We require a $500 non-refundable deposit immediately after the bidding closes, and the remaining balance within a week. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. All of this being said please take a look at the pictures and ask any questions you may have. Or come by and check it out in person before you bid.
