Vehicle Detail

Hello there! First of all I want to say that this car is not for mini enthusiasts who want everything to be 100% authentic and original. It is for those who want to have a fun project and bring back to life an old legend as good as they can. I will tell you absolutely everything I know about this car in this listing. If I miss anything shoot me an email or send me a message! First of all it has been restored once before, It wasnt until i looked up the VIN that I actually discovered it was truly a cooper S. It has a completely rebuilt 1275 AND gearbox front disc brakes Dual 5 gallon gas tanks Dual SU carbs Original glass Original front seats and original back seat tachometer all the electrical works and when I bought it back in may of 2011 it ran beautifully. LEFT hand drive Sliding windows EXTERNAL oil filter Perfect Headliner!!! all chrome is in flawless shape ten inch wheels EXTRA PARTS I WILL INCLUDE....... 1. brand new floor pan with seat brace 2. brand new door sill or rocker panel assemblies for both driver and passenger sides 3. Brand new HINGE panels in front of the doors for both sides Here is what will need restoration or repair work, I will lay everything out on the table here for you. The entire floor needs to be cut out and replaced with the one i provided The old door kick panels need to be cut out and the new ones welded in The door hinge panles need to be replaced Under the headlights also needs replacing Once that is done 60% of your work is finbished. the boot floor is solid it just has surface rust, under the seat is also just surface rusted. the rust is the worst around the door hinges and the floor and kick panels. Condition of other body parts HOOD. its perfect, just some surface rust DOORS. also nealry perfect, has not rotted through the bottom BOOT Lid, probably in the best shape out of the entire car ROOF flawless Rain Gutters...Surface rust INTERIOR FRONT SEATS.. have some tears in them, other wise in good shape REAR SEAT.. overall good condition has tear on top I removed the carpet. MECHANICAL Here are the required mechanical repairs to make it run great New clutch, for some strange reason while sitting in the garage the clutch will not disengage from the flywheel, easy fix? I have no idea New brake line..like a true mini it rusted out. Adjust the idle speed on the carbs Thats it as far as mechanical, if you ask me thats not a bad deal eh? Why am I selling? I bought this car along with a body shell from another planning on restoring at least one. I did not have a car at the time or the finances. I then came across a mazda miata for a bargain and grabbed it. I expected a check for a good chunk of money to invest in the mini, well it turns out I had to use that money for something else and now I have my miata which also needs some work. I really hate to let this thing go, after all...its a Cooper S!! Ididnt know this till a few days ago and was contemplating keeping it. This would be a fantastic project, after all you have half the mechanical work already done. I bought it from Saint Louis and the man had the engine rebuilt and put only 10K on it. I can tell you I beleive him because it has Zero sludge, and when I say Zero its like its brand new! My name is Thomas Buyer has to arrange and pay extra for shipping, I can deliver it if its cheaper than shipping but we can discuss that after the sale. Right now I will only take cash for this sale, unless I meet you in person and feel like your a legit human being then will i consider a cashiers check. I am a cool guy and easy to get along withOn Aug-15-11 at 09:10:10 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello there! *******UPDATE******* *****I am adding new photos of the dash. And if possible a video of it runing! It took 3 or 4 attempts at starting it and letting it run a bit with the choke on, but after it reached normal temp it let the choke out and it idled on for about 10 min until i shut it off. not bad for a car i didnt start for 5 months! I Started Engine 3 Times in the last 2 days and let it run for a while Ive adjusted the idle speed and it idles after warmup at about 1400 rpms, so you will have to do some more tweaking. This car has been sitting for a while so the carbs probably need cleaning and i noticed a bit of water in the tank. headlights, blinkers, horn, interior lights all work. Again, included in this sale are the replacement parts for the major rust spots except in the front. There will be some minor metal fabrication work required. But overall it is actually in better shape than it looks. Once more this was restored once already, it wasnt restored as a cooper s, it wasnt until a mini enthusiast who was interested in buying looked up the vin and found out it was orginally an S , which explains the gas tanks and engine and brakes.******* First of all I want to say that this car is not for mini enthusiasts who want everything to be 100% authentic and original. Adjust the idle speed on the carbs and CLEAN THEM and have some good mechanics familiar with the a series go over it and smooth out any bumps, because right now it idles good but it could be smoother Do an oil change Have a general inspection done just to be safe.
