Hi, what I am selling is my 1987 honda xl600r dual sport motorcycle. These old XL "Thumper's" are a classic and known to be one of the Best and most powerful dual sport bikes to this day. I have done tons of work and replaced virtually every mechanical item on this bike to make it a Very Nice bike, unfortunatley for me the motor stopped runnung last week .From what some people have told me it "Dropped a valve" but I have not done anything to it to verify the problem. The bike was running great then when I stopped at a light, idleing the motor made a slight rattle noise then died. I slowely turned it over with my hand until it reached TDC then stopped. Up to this point the motor was running strong and and pulls hard and never burned any oil or smoked. About the bike: This XL is in Very Good condition (unrestored but replaced a lot of parts). I get complitments where ever I go and people always want to reminisce about the "Old Days" of these bikes. I replaced a ton of mechanical parts as well (the list below). The bike started rite up 1st or 2nd kick after replaceing the stator and coil. This was going to be my daily commuter bike until this happened and I just don't have the time to fix it,so if you are or know of a motorcycle mechanic "This Bike will be a Great Bike" to fix and return it back on the road. My loos is your gain. I tried to replace as much factory Honda parts when available. This bike is all stock and I tried to keep it that way. The tank is in very good condition, it does have a small chip in paint but no dings at all. All plastic is in good shape,front fender does have some scratches but still descent. overall this bike is Very Nice! I can deliver to Seattle area.
