Vehicle Detail

A friend of mine from church has had this car for years and has been considering selling it for the last couple...in fact, we went so far as to list it on eBay last summer but bids fell short of the reserve. This year, however, he has considerably more incentive to sell the car...you see, one of his co-workers has a young son who has been serving in the U.S. Marine Corps in Afghanistan. Recently, the vehicle in which the young man was traveling across Afghanistan rolled over an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) in the roadway and the young man was gravely injured, losing a leg and taking significant shrapnel to the head and sustaining a traumatic brain injury. The young soldier was initially airlifted to a US Military hospital in Germany and his father traveled there to be near his son's side. Since then, the young man has been transferred to Bethesda Naval Hospital outside Washington, D.C. and his dad has been at his bedside all day, every day. With his own "Paid Time Off" exhausted, the father's co-workers began donating their vacation time so that dad could stay at son's bedside. In addition, dad's co-workers have begun to raise money to help the family while dad is attending to his son in the hospital. As a retired military man himself, my friend felt the need to do something more than donate vacation days and pass the hat at the VFW, so he's decided to sell his 1941 Plymouth and donate 100% of the proceeds to the family of this valiant young soldier who has sacrificed so much for our freedom. If the car sells and the family no longer needs assistance the money will all be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. EVERY DIME of the sale price of this beautiful old 1941 Plymouth survivor will go either to the young man's family to meet their personal needs or to the Wounded Warrior Program to meet the needs of soldiers, veterans and families in similar situations. Here's the scoop on the car: It's an all-original 1941 Plymouth 2-door Sedan with slightly less than 100,000 miles on it. It starts easily, idles smoothly, drives nicely and looks great! It has no obvious bodywork, no rust and no major flaws in the interior. The engine compartment is clean and dry and you could drive her anywhere you want to go! With shiny blue paint and tons of chrome, she demands attention wherever she goes...it makes a great parade car! PLEASE, if you're in the market for a very cool, driveable, vintage sedan, consider bidding on this one. You'll end up with a beautiful old survivor and you'll do a world of good for someone who's life has been forever changed in the service of our country. If you have any questions relative to the car or the situation I've described above, feel free to call me (Jon) at 701 840 8038 anytime. Check my feedback and bid with confidence...no disappointments here! On Aug-10-11 at 19:58:04 PDT, seller added the following information: I've learned a little more about the car in the last couple of days and thought I'd update the posting with a little new information. The car was purchased new by a family named Seidschlag in Minot, North Dakota. Eventually, they retired to Arizona and took the car there with them. The car was purchased at an estate sale in the Phoenix area by a Colorado-based Vintage Car Re-seller called Classical Gas. My friend Rocky bought the car there about 6-7 years ago. Rocky believes the car received a fresh coat of paint about 20 years ago, but having looked at it, there are no obvious signs of a re-paint...it was evidently very well done! There is no obvious bodywork and no signs of ever having had any rust. Also, the car is being sold with a "Clear" North Dakota title and it does have North Dakota Pioneer (Permanant) License Plates.
