Up for bids is a very solid 99.9% rust free 79 Z28. This car was once my pride and joy. I was a kid so I had subs in the trunk,one day the + cable grounded out in the trunk and turned the shift cable red hot,lit the carpet on fire and ended up burning the mint condition interior. Its now been 10 years since the fire and I have a kid on the way so will probably never have time to finish it. The whole body is very nice with just a couple specs of rust barley noticeable at the corners of the rear windshield. The 355 motor was built at golden racing back in the day and supposedly has 350-400HP. Ported double hump heads, holley carb, edelbrock system matched cam and intake, headers,brand new 2.5" exhaust with flowmaster and all the good stuff. 3 of the 4 tires are new, the right rear is pretty bald. The car has been in storage for 10 years. I started to fix it way back when and then lost interest, I replaced the steering column, shifter and cable, glass and a bunch of other little things to get it moveable again. I sunk a couple thousand into it. I haven't started it in 4 years. I used to fire it up every once and a while but the battery died and that was that. It needs an air cleaner as you can see in the pic, I robbed it off a couple years ago for a truck I had.So this is a project car and needs love. The gas should be drained, maybe a carb clean, new battery and the interior finished. I have a dash, center console, new carpet kit, guages, interior wiring harness pulled from another 79 that I bought for parts. It will need seats or the old ones redone, I have front and rears. With a little money and elbow grease this classic could be a head turner again. You will need a car hauler to pick this up,it is not currently in driving condition. I washed it today for the 1st time in many years with a little soap and gallon jugs full of water because there is no running water up north at my parents old trailer where its stored. With a real wash and a good buff and wax it would really shine. Its located in greenville MI about 25 min. NE of grand rapids. More pics to come of all the other parts I have for it.
