Vehicle Detail
Just found last week out behind an old garage! No reserve auction! 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS RS 350 Automatic. Appears to be a factory two-tone car; white painted roof with red lower body and black deluxe interior. This car was tucked away behind a garage for many years and I just stumbled upon it last week. First, I must explain that I am a Mopar guy and am not an expert on these cars. With that in mind, here are some observations: The motor has had the intake removed for some reason and I set it back on top for the pictures, so if you want to know if it runs, the answer is no. The trunk was full of parts and I have pulled them out and sorted through them and it looks like most of the engine is there. I checked the code on the front right of the block and unfortunately it does not appear to be the original motor or transmission (CKK code-which my book says is a 1972 350, and the trans is a turbohydramatic 3 speed). It still has the 12 bolt rear end in it, but I have not checked it to see if it is a posi yet. The brakes are power 4 wheel drum, and it has power steering also. It looks like it has a smog pump, and some of the original pieces are there, as well as what appears to be the original Air cleaner. It has the hideaway light feature, which appears to be all there. The trunk looks solid and I think the jack is the original one. Someone cut a hole in the right side of the trunk floor extension for a power antenna... which doesn't look to bright to me. The interior features bucket seats, console & tach/guage option. It has the original moulded door panels and seat covers. As far as rust goes, there is some here and there but this is a Southwest car, so it's not like what you see in an Ohio car or something. Looks like someone laid something over the back of the hood & right fender and it caused some corrosion and a few holes here and there. The deck lid has a few spots at the rear, and there are a few spots on the bottom of the 1/4's & fenders. The inner structure including the floor pans & wheel houses looks very solid. All the glass is there and the sides roll up & down. The car has been bumped in the rear near the right taillight, but I found another taillight in the trunk. This should make a great project car. It has a clean "pink slip" from 1979 which shows it had original black license plates (JDY 817) at one time (but are missing now) so if you had a set of plates made to match (Go to Licenseplates.TV and you'll see what I mean), maybe you could get it re-registered with those plates! Paperwork includes title, some past registration slips and old smog stuff. I will be looking to see if I can find a build sheet in the car somewhere, and will post a copy of it on this auction if I do. Delivery / pickup The car is located in Cypress, CA which is about 30 miles Southeast of downtown Los Angeles. If you would like to stop by and see the car, call me (Greg) at 714 952 4052 for an appointment and directions. Please note that on August 17th I am leaving on vacation for a week, so any pickup & delivery should be around the 15th or 16th of August. I have a 24 foot enclosed car trailer which I can use to deliver to you if you are semi-local, -or- if you are a foriegn buyer and would like to have me deliver to the port of Los Angeles. Any delivery would be for an additional fee.On Aug-08-11 at 16:44:24 PDT, seller added the following information: The trim tag was decoded, and contains this information: "67-12637" -67 Camaro Sport Coupe w/deluxe interior "LOS" -Los Angeles assembly plant "765-Z" -Black Deluxe Bucket seat interior "R-2" -Bolero Red exterior with black roof (?) They will be included in this auction. -Car has Turbo 350 trans in it. -Looks like original paint from the factory pinstripe up.On Aug-11-11 at 10:19:40 PDT, seller added the following information: I've added a picture of the "Pink Slip" showing the original "black plate" license number. The guy I got this car from bought it in 1979 and has had it ever since until last week. It is signed but not dated, so that you won't have to pay any penalties (If your a California resident). The back side of the title has NOT had any names of subsequent owners inserted, so this is about as clean as a title as you could ask for! I also have both keys for the car; ignition & trunk. On Aug-13-11 at 07:58:44 PDT, seller added the following information: Due to problems with non-paying bidders on other cars I have listed in the past, I require a feedback score of at least ten (10) to bid on this car. Anyone less than that score will have their bid cancelled. Sorry for this, but ebay does not back it sellers up by allowing them to post Negative feedback to "Sport bidders" who don't complete transactions.
