The 2600 Sprint is a large grand touring coupe which was built as a GT cruiser for high speed journeys (used by the Italian Police in the 60's) . This model inherited the sharp, modern styling of its predecessor, the 2000 Sprint, that contributed to it being the top seller in the 2600 range. That shape had been the result of Giorgetto Giugiaro 's first major project as head designer for Carrozeria Bertone, and is arguably one of the most influential designs in the history of automotive styling. The reason I bought the car was for the intense design and "Big Alfa" growling straight 6 with 3 solex carbs. 5 speed manual has major torque and is smooth at high revs. The expereince is more of an Italian muscle car rather than a little sportster. If you are looking for a reasonable classic for weekends or road rally's it's a good match. Some of the work done- new exhast sytem, head gasket, rebuilt, 3 solex carbs, new tires (185/400 a little more rubber), newer pads,rotors,calipers, upgraded clutch, new radiator, new shocks, etc.. more little items to list. The power windows were worked on but do not go all the way up ans are slow (have heard of remidies with faster elec. motor), only rev and oil pressure work on speedo gauge-Odometer never worked actual mileage unknown. Body is straight with minor sctraches, no evidence of bondo or major rust, roof is only area that is crackled. New hub caps on original rims, interior is vinyl-good condition (panel on driver seat needs work), headliner -nice. I did post recent pictures and a video link driving the car. Full list of work performed by Alfa mechanic and copy of original 2600 tech specifics will be provided. I have price this accordingly for an over all "good" condition Alfa Sprint with some attention needed to make it "great" condition. Good luck!
