Vehicle Detail
You know those Z06 Convertible Corvette wannabes? I'm talking stuck on rear brake duct intakes and glued on Z06 badges. You and I both know a Corvette doesn't get to be a Z06 with duct tape and imagination: it's born a Z06. You're looking at the real deal here. This is a 2004 Z06 Corvette that I had professionally engineered into a convertible in mid 2009. Essentially, the hardtop was cut off, the soft top was put on, and the appropriate body panels were replaced. I didn't feel right cutting down a perfectly good Z06, so I bought one that had rear end damage and left it to the pros at Kirks Corvettes http://kirkscorvettes.com to do the rest. They did a beautiful job and did it right. The frame-work is backed by a lifetime warranty. They also painted the entire car a gloss black. The car currently has 73,641 miles. Aftermarket parts: Billy Boat B&B Bullet exhaust system. Recent Maintenance: August 2010: Radiator replaced. January 2011: Transmission rebuilt, new Z06 OEM clutch and Fidanza flywheel installed by Kirks Corvettes. February 2011: Bridgestone Potenza RE760's put on all 4 corners and alignment done on 02/12/2011 by Firestone. Front brakes redone shortly after the tires. March 2011: New water pump. April 2011: New front chin spoiler. Areas of Cosmetic Opportunity:A Ford pickup backed into me at a parking lot last year. Silver dollar sized hole in front bumper from trailer hitch. The front left headlight needs to be aligned: it has worn some paint from the hood. The cloth bottom lip of the convertible top has worn through behind the passenger's seat causing nickel-sized paint loss on the tonneau cover (this is only visible with the top down).Curb rash on the underside of the passenger side rocker panel.Assorted scratches on the driver's side back corner. Most will come out with some buffing compound.Needs an antenna.I removed the stock stereo head unit because the CD player ceased functioning. I will include the stock stereo with the car.The HVAC temperature controls--when visible--are very dim. This in no way hinders the function of the HVAC system. The windshield was cracked from top to bottom on the passenger's side two weeks ago by a single, stray piece of hail. $35,000+ invested. Runs and drives great. 405 HP LS6 runs strong and returns 20+ mpg when driven reasonably. The Bridgestones do a great job harnessing all those horses effectively. A/C blows very cold. Mobile 1 synthetic oil and 93 octane gasoline. This auction is for local pickup only. However, I will work with your shipping company of choice, but you will have to make all the arrangements. No warranty expressed or implied. I reserve the right to end this auction early upon local sale.On Aug-06-11 at 10:00:37 PDT, seller added the following information:
