Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a nice example of an early SVO. The Motor: I bought it with blown head gasket then rebuilt the motor to include; Block is original bore with complete re-ring kit, the block still had factory cross hatch patterns with a ring grove that honed out. Crank was polished and put back with oem bearings. I replaced the oil pump and inlet tube. The head went to Precision Machine in Jeff City, MO for reconditioning with new cam bearings ans 2 new valves a resurface and of course new ranger cam. The head gasket is turbo feelpro with new head bolts. The Garret turbo bench tested and looked great but I replaced the stainless oil line just because. The timing belt is Gates and also new tensioner. The injecters looked new so we cleaned then up and reused them. All the rubber under the hood is new (belts, hoses etc.). The clutch is a stage 2 I bought on line, turned the flywheel and then I replaced the seal in the t-5. I replaced the starter also. The a/c is new hr980 pump, accumulator, orifice tube. The car then got 3" custom exhaust with turbo thrush muffler (sounds great). I kept the car factory other then the exhaust, cam and increasing the boost. The sky is the limit on these cars for hp. My guess is she is around 240hp now with upgrades maybe more have not put her on the dyno. The Body: There is no evidence anywhere on the car of any kind of bondo work or repair. She is a 100% rust free car and I believe the 80K miles to be correct. It sat for many years in a garage from the gentelman who sold it to me. To nit-pick the paint job, there are small hail dings on the very front of the hood, the clear is failing on the top, over the doors, my guess is the paint job is around 10-15 years old. She shines and looks good. To make the car really perfect, I would repaint. After all, the mechanics are done. The taillight lenses look new (zero fading), the front corner lenses look great, the inners on the front need to be replaced, they are yellowed severly. The Interior: This is one of the cleanest, all original interiors you will find - not a crack in the dash, original carpet, original seats, original headliner - and they all look good. Some fading is beginning - after all she is an 84. She has the original stereo and amp control that still sounds good!! It also has the premium unleaded fuel switch that still functions as it should. Even the courtesy lamp and the pump up lumbar supports still function!! Brakes, Tires, Wheels, Struts, Steering: The tires have approx. 60% tread wear left, even wear all around, no dry rot. I replaced all brakes and turn rotors all around (stops on a dime - as it should)! Two wheels look great the other side could use new clear. The adjustable Koni struts perform like they should and do not leak. I replaced the power steering pump because she was whining a bit. To sum it up, this car is a very clean and nice original 80K car. It needs a few things to be complete, but the big stuff is done. Call with any questions: 573-746-1050. Thanks!! Note to bidders: My description of my car is dead-on. I don't try to make it sound better than it really is. I have had buyers in the past (one in particular) who envisioned that the car would be brand new and perfect when I did not describe it as such at all. Hence, the last low input which brought my rating down to 92%. I have built over 100 cars in my lifetime, these are my babies. Thanks for bidding.
