I've said it before and I'll say it again....I LOVE me some high miler Volvo's!! I always tell people there's a reason why it made it here after 13+ years. Proper maintenance on ANY car will ensure reliability. This car is no exception. I've personally logged over 100miles on this car (as I do every car I sell). I'd put my mother in this car!! Honest....I put her in a 2001 Volvo C70 with 175k that she bought from me....why not? If you are looking for a MINT condition one owner garage kept dent free never seen rain or snow perfect car....this isn't it!!!! But if you need a teen driver or a second car or if times are just tough and you need to go from A to B in the safest car in the world for cheap.....you've found it!! Hi. The exterior is an 8 out of 10. Solid body with no signs of rust. Bumper covers are solid with no damages or cracks. A few bruises and scuffs but nothing to be considered an eyesore. I can count on one hand how many dings there are. No dents. No signs of of any body repairs or major damages. The paint shines but could definitely use a good buffing to remove all the pesky light swirls and scratches. The hood shows plenty of touch-ups but it shows the prior owner cared enough to even do it. Car drives straight and smooth. No vibrations or unusual pulling or wandering even at highways speeds. Tires are very recent and matching. Rims are clean and vibration free. No suspension noises or popping. Brakes and rotors are brand new all the way around. Fresh spark plugs (Volvo ones were removed with implies dealer servicing as well as the air filter). Timing belt was changed at Volvo (see tag below). New Interstate battery. New poly upper engine mount. New Volvo lower motor mount. Air conditioning blows ICE COLD! All power items seem to work as they should. I always make my cars ready to go with minimal or no work needed. Please read the descriptions and enjoy 30+ pics below! The rear wing is such an awesome option!! Volvo Only piece there!! Makes you actually want to enjoy driving a wagon! I had one on my 98 T5 wagon!! It had 142k....my current 98 S70 has 220k!!! Reliable. Period. Again...the shine is nice but there are light scratches (not deep) throughout the car. I don't have a buffer, but a trip to your local favorite detailer will remove most easily. Rear cover looks to have been repainted with a few spots of peeling. Front headlight wipers have been removed. Headlight lens below has a crack in the lower inner corner. Easily replaced with a quality part from a seller on ebay. I believe they are under $20. Interior is a 7 out of 10. Typical door panel vinyl separation. A few cigarette burns on driver's panel yet no smell of cigs (I hate smoke!). A few panel cuts here and there. Leather looks great! No driver's bolster wear or rips or tears. Carpet seems clean but it's black...hard to tell anyway! All the dummy lights illuminate as they should upon startup with only the "Service" light being burnt out. It's typical for this light to be on, on most 98 and older cars, as you HAD to have Volvo reset it....it's a "come to the dealer and pay lots" light. Comes on every 3000 miles or stays on for 3mins at every startup until reset....do the math! LOL! Engine light came on but went off....I checked it and it was for the "EVAP Vacuum Pump" or similar. The pump works but is a lil noisy when running probably throwing the code. Again...typical 850/S/V70 issue. Not sure what happened here but if you look closely, you'll see the lower kneebolster panle under glovebox is missing. It's cosmetic doesn't present any safety concerns. Looking closer in these pics, you can see tiny cuts in the doorpanels. Again...not anything but cosmetic....but I disclose ANYTHING I know! Heehee!! Here's the part you want this car for....besides reliability!!! 3rd row seat!! Golden. Spare tire, etc all intact. In the next pic, it's hard to see, but the right REAR passenger (not rear 3rd row) seatbelt is jammed. I tried doinking with it but was unable to release it. Looks as if the prior owner did as well. Again, it's typical when people fold there seats down to bind them up. Right rear doorlock unlocks when it wants to. Typical. Only base manuals come with and only one key with no keyfob. Being a 98 model, there was no Transponder chip in the keys so that will keep the cost down when replacing. Again....fresh sparks plugs, upper and lower motormounts, new brakes/rotors, recent tires, New battery, ICE COLD AC, heated seats, usable 3rd row.....no issues. The ONLY thing I did not address...both outer CV boots, are torn. They are NOT clicking or making noise. About $100 in parts($75 for passenger 2wd and $25 for driver's) at PepBoys after you turn your cores in, give or take based on location. I didn't replace due to time and money...isn't it always?? The car drives so nice, I didn't want to jinx it....really. NO RESERVE!! GOOD LUCK!! Timing belt replaced by Volvo at what seems to have been 131.5K....not sure why the ".5" but it was done about 3 years ago....and I inspected it. No cracking or dryrot. Seems to be accurate being a 50k belt....leaves 50k left. Hate to pull the "highway miles" card but... Green tag is Volvo AC servicing. No signs of any major oil or coolant leaks. Underneath is dry and doesn't leave any spots on my shop floor. Engine fires up nicely. Power is smooth, Turbo is strong. Transmission shifts perfectly. No overheating or misfiring.
