Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a nice solid 1965 Olds Cutlass F-85. The car has the 330 V8 with a factory 4brl carb, 2 speed Automatic trans, power steering, power brakes, & AC, however the AC blows warm air so I suspect it needs recharged. The car belongs to my father in law, & I am just helping him sell it. He bought the car from a neighbor of mine that was moving out of state back in March of 2008 and used the car as his daily driver in his home town of Raton, NM. Since bringing the car back to Rio Rancho, NM, I have driven the car a bit and it seems to run pretty good with no smoke but does have a small oil pan leak. It is nothing major, but after driving it, it will usually leave a small oil stain on the ground about the size of a silver dollar. My father in law installed a new timing chain in it not long after buying it so I suspect it is just dripping from the oil pan gasket. With the exception of the 3 years my father in law has owned the car, it's been here in the dry desert area & the body looks to be very solid. The only rust I noticed on the car is, there is a small area on the passenger side of the trunk pan and a tiny bit behind the passenger side rear wheel. (see pics) The rest of the trunk pan looks rock solid as does the rest of the car. The car was repainted many years back and it is faded pretty good, but still looks ok for a driver. The front bumper looks like it is tweaked a little, but other than that I don't see any body damage and the car looks to be straight. The interior looks like it is all original and in good driver condition, however the top of the back seat has some cracks from the sun. The passenger side door panel is starting to separate but it looks like it could just be re glued. The worst of the interior is the rear package try, it will need replaced as it is warped from the sun and may have been wet at one time. All the glass is good, but the windshield does have a crack on the passenger side. All the lights and gauges work as they should, but the radio is missing, the glove compartment lock is broken, the horn cap is missing, the horn does not work, & the turn signal switch does not cancel. The car drives nice and doesn't seam to wander on the road or pull when you hit the brakes, but it will need rear shocks soon. The Crager style wheels are old and the tires are not the best. I haven't personally driven the car enough to say it's ready for a cross country trip, but it has been very dependable around town. If you are from a long distance from me I would plan on having the car trailered to it's new home. My father in law just drove it around the small town of Raton, and although I have driven it around Rio Rancho a bit with no problems, I am not comfortable enough with it to say yes head out on the open highway. Over all the car is a nice solid unmolested car. It looks like it wouldn't take much to have a really nice little car that will stand out in the endless sea of Mustangs, Chevelles & Camaros at the weekend cruise night or your local burger joint. The car is not perfect, but is a really nice solid foundation to build something a little different with out breaking the bank. I have a clean & clear New Mexico title in hand and the car has been registered & insured as long my father in law has owned it. My name is Nick and if you would like to talk to me about the car you can call me at 505-917-2375. Or if you need additional picture please don't hesitate to ask. The car is being sold AS IS with NO Warrantee of any kind and all shipping costs are the buyers responsibility. Please ask any and all questions before you bid as all sales are final. The car must be paid in full with in 7 days from the auctions end in the form of Cash, or postal money orders only. I will not accept paypal or cashiers checks so please do not ask. I am happy to hold the car for up to 1 month, unless other other arrangements are made prior to auctions close, but the car must be paid in full with in 7 days. Thanks for looking & happy bidding...
