Up for bidding is a gorgeous 1977 Mercedes-Benz 450 SL. This car was purchased about 6 years ago from California. It has been garaged for the most part since. I have driven it a few miles here and there in warmer days. The body, engine and transmission are in solid shape. BODY: I decided to paint the entire car about 2 years ago. I personally purchased the factory spec high quality paint and hired a skilled painter to spray it. It has turned out great. Paint is solid and glossy. This includes the hard top. No body work was performed; paint only. SOFT TOP: I purchased a brand new high quality soft top about 4 years ago. The soft top is practically in brand new condition since the car has been garaged for the most part. ENGINE: Runs perfect and has been inspected by a local Mercedes specialist (contact info available upon request for serious bidders). Most recent work was installation of a new catalytic converter a few months ago. No smokes -of any color- even at start up when the car has been sitting for a long period of time. TRANSMISSION: Has had maintenance service and shifts quite smoothly. INTERIOR: Interior is in good shape, although there are blemishes consistent with the age of the car. Seats, door panels and carpets are in great shape. You'll see blemishes on center console and dash cover. I purchased an after market skin for the dash but I never glued it on. It will come with the car. I have included some pictures of all the interior imperfections for full disclosure. TIRES: have been on this car for a few years, but since the car has been garaged they still look almost new. WHEELS: Original style chromed rims with very little blemished. No scrapes on the edges. OPTIONS: All options work, except the AC. I have never looked into it since I never really needed it.
