1957 Ford Thunderbird **Kit Car** Description: This is a project car that has not been completed. The kit was made by a company in New York called C.A.R. Manufacturing Ltd., located at 430 Park Avenue, Babylon, NY. 11709. The car comes with the step by step instruction manual and additional finishing parts described below. If you are looking to create a nice replica of an expensive car than this is a great opportunity for you. I purchased this car but never began to work on it. The description below is based off of what I have seen and tested. Unfortunately, I need my garage back to finish another car. The boxed frame (square tubed frame) was part of the kit and a majority of the other parts are from a 1971 Ford Pinto (easy to find parts for). The main fiberglass body is sitting on the frame. The doors and trunk are bolted on but still require adjusting and fitting. The front hood, roof and front windshield still need to be mounted. The engine is a rebuilt stock 302 with a C4 transmission installed. The drive train is all hooked up and the car starts right up using the key. Unfortunately, it has not been driven down the road yet. -Chrome one wire Ford Alternator (Installed) -302 small base HEI distributor (Installed) -The car does not have an exhaust system (not included) -Door handles are not installed (included) -Interior not installed (most of it is included) -Glass not installed (front windshield included but the rest is not included) -Trim pieces (some parts included) -The steering wheel was installed and the brakes were rebuilt. -There is a standard hot rod wiring harness in the car. The brake lights, blinkers, headlights, heating controls, radiator fan and gauges work off of the wiring harness. -Installed in the trunk is a JEGS Pro-Street Fuel Cell (12 Gallon). It’s installed and hooked up to the carburetor. -B&M Z-Gate automatic shifter is installed but still requires some adjusting - Ford thunderbird chrome emblems – see picture (most of them included) - And many other items…. This is not a complete working car and is being sold as a project car. It cannot be driven down the road and it will need to be towed. There is no vin number and the car has not been registered yet so please keep that in mind when bidding. It will have to be registered as a kit car. It is recommended that you come see the car before purchasing if possible but understand that many of you will not have that option. Please ask questions and I will do my best to respond to your inquiries and provide additional supporting pictures. The high bidder will be expected to make full payment within 7 days and pick up the car within 14 days. If you cannot meet these terms please contact me before bidding to make other arrangements. I will assist in loading the car onto your trailer or work with your shipper to get the car loaded, but I will not be responsible for making shipping arrangements. All sales are final.
