For sale is an above average 1987 Olds 442. I bought this car several months ago and wanted to give it to my son for his 16th birthday. His mother feels he needs a new car so here we are selling it on Ebay. Because it was for my son and I wanted no problems, I have gone a little over the top in terms of cost, looks and making it dependable. Don't let the mileage fool you this car looks better than when new. I started with a very clean rust free car bought right here in Houston. It is a rare 442 with correct 307 V8, automatic, Posi, Oldsmobile. I have restored over 200 muscle cars in the last 10 years and wanted my son to have a cool car with disc brakes, cold a/c, power steering, and a little power to get out of the way, but not get into trouble. I left the car entirely stock, added a new headliner, visors, new tires, changed the oil, tuned it up and had the dealer put a base coat / clear coat paint job ($5,000.00 cost alone). The paint is so new in fact there are zero defects (no chips, scratches etc. ) Here is what I know. Real 442 RPO code (W42) 442 only Engine stock 307 Olds, new exhaust, just tuned, including carb. Runs perfect and starts without issue. No oil leaks. Has a new battery. (LG8) Hi-Output V-8 Trans stock has factory shift kit for 442, shifts great through all gears and no leaks. (MW9) 200-4R 4 speed automatic Rear axle factory Posi unit, no leaks just serviced. (GT4) 3.73 ratio (G80) Posi (G87) 8.50 ring gear Brakes front disc. rear drum, stops straight and without issue (F41) High performance /firm suspension, larger front (1.25) and rear sabilizer (.875) bars Power steering, no leaks and works perfect, new Cooper Cobra tires ($650.00) Exterior is a PPG base coat/ clear coat. The car was stripped all windows removed, trim taken off and primed, sealed and then painted. The pictures dont do it justice, it looks like water. I had a hard time taking pictures without having my reflections in the paint. It looks better than when new. Look at the pictures of each side shot very straight. Doors open and shut easy, no sag, trunk is original with spare, jack etc. Known issues : small crack in driver side dash about and inch long. Has and is working without issue : A/C (blows ice cold), power windows, power locks, power seats, cruise, tilt, rear defrost, ralley gages, leather steering wheel. Comes with all books and dealer literature. I feel confident you can drive this car anywhere in the USA without issue. I have put over 200 miles on the car without an issue. This is a very nice true 442 if the mileage was less I would be asking double. The buy it now is actually less than what I personally have in the car, but I need the space as I have a 71 R/T Charger I'm restoring.
