I am reluctantly selling my near-mint condition 1986 Gold Wing Aspencade SE-i. I am selling it due to the purchase of a 1994 GL 1500 last year. Although the GL 1500 is nice, it does not have near the features the 1986 SE-i has. I am the 3rd owner of this bike. When I purchased this bike it had 32,334 miles on it. It has & still performs flawlessly & all I've done to the bike over the years is routine maintenance. To my knowledge the bike has never been wrecked. It has always been stored & covered in my garage when not driven. The paint on this bike is a two tone pearl white & is in excellent condition. This bike always draws compliments anywhere we would stop. For two years Honda produced the Limited (two- tone gold) in 1985 & the SE-i (two-tone pearl) in 1986. These bikes were state of the art & ahead of their time.They were the 1st to install electronic fuel injection, automotive type electronic cruise control, cornering lights, & an automatic leveling system for front & rear air shocks, on board trip computer that provides the correct time for each different time zone in the US with one push of a button. The computer also shows fuel consumption, average mpg, average speed, fuel range, & much more. It has a removeable am/fm/cassette radio w/intercom system & built-in fader for the front, back, & side to side adjustment of all four speakers. It has digital readout for the speedometer, tachometer, fuel & temperature gauges, along with the oil pressure & oil temperature gauges. Will also display in metric mode. The on board air compressor is used to air up the air shocks front & rear as well as add air to the tires or air up anything that is inflatable. The handlebars are adjustable. This bike has many extra features; Markland driver foot boards, driver highway boards, heel-to-toe shifter, & trailer hitch. It has self cancelling turn signals,digital voltage readout, digital readout of air pressure in the front & rear shocks, front fender extension & luggage rack on rear trunk. Both front & rear tires are oem type Dunlop 491 Elite II's w/2/3rd's tread left. Brake pads are fairly new, cam belts replaced last year, oil & filter changed, & a new battery installed. Alternator has been hardwired to protect the alternator & regulator. Everything on the bike works except the cigarette lighter. MPG on the bike loaded w/two people is about 36-42 mpg. Two matching helmets (size small & medium) w/intercoms, original soft luggage for side bags, original tool kit, owners manual, & one lightweight full cover go with the bike. The following issues keep this bike from being in mint condition: left handlebar grip end cap is missing, stress cracks where luggage rack bolts to top of rear trunk (was this way when I purchased bike)see photo, background on face of computer is faded faintly, left front fork had a decal I removed & left some fine scratches, & right rear crash bar has some tiny scratches on it. No leaks on bike. I have been monitoring Ebay for the past year on the auctions of this particular bike & I have yet to see one sell that was as nice as this one although I have seen some nice ones sell!! Also remember, this bike is 25 years old &, in most states, eligible for historic tags & insurance. Although there is no guarantee on this bike due to its age, I can attest to the fact this SE-i is one of a kind & in excellent shape for a 1986. I have set what I think is a reasonable reserve price on this bike. This bike needs nothing to "hit the road" once purchased. Thanks for looking & happy bidding!!!!!!!
