3 Days With No Reserve - Sold To The Highest Bidder! This is an original & Early 1967 Mercury Cougar Factory GT "S Code" 390-4V. It was found sitting since 1989 in the 2nd owner's garage located in Hacienda Heights, California. The story behind it was the 2nd owner purchased it thru the local free newspaper. He purchased it from the original owner around 75'. He remember the original owner saying he purchased it in the Los Angeles area at a Mercury Dealer & it was a demonstration model used in the showroom. The second owner drove it thru the high school years & parked it in the garage. The familiar story took place, "I'll restore one of these days". Covered with a cover & boxes - it sat for over 20 years behind a close door. I was lucky enough to pass by when the garage door was open. Owner was ready to part with it as he had other projects ( mainly his home ). He mentioned every time his garage door was open, there was someone knocking, asking if it was for sale. Answer was always no, as he had plans for it. Documented thru Marti Auto Works as the real GT with 19 Factory Options. Rare options including Convenience Control Panel, Air Conditioner & AM/8-Track Stereo Radio. I have uploaded a copy of the Marti report right below. This is a True California, Heavily optioned Cougar that was delivered into Los Angeles. Still remains it's original Black plates on the car. Appears to been repainted once but the door jambs/ trunk are the original Iverness Green paint. Original floors & undercarriage, unrestored. Floors are clean and in good shape for being original. Driver upper floor has a small amount of rust, nothing major. The trunk pan has it's original panels & paint. Around the drain rails, has the common rust. Aprons & shock towers are clean and original. The Ivy Gold Standard Interior is 100% original and mostly complete. Console, original steering wheel, factory 8 track & electric clock still in place. The driver seat will be bolted back in. Appears to be the original 390, not for sure though. Has the big S intake. Correct Disc Brakes. I know the carburetor was changed & the air cleaner is missing. It does start & engine runs. Will need brakes as there is no brakes at all. The driver side hood hinge is in the trunk, so that's off.A lot of extra parts go along with the sale, most of the parts that came off. It starts up but no brakes. Transmission works but can't really tell condition as there is no brakes. This cougar is being as a project that will need to be restored, keep that in mind. Whatever reason, it does have signals, not 100% sure why. The rear signals come right off and have no bulbs.
